    Can't say I am not happy nor impressed, Hopkins even at 52 was always going to be tough, and the first round KO of Fonfara was splendid. Give Smith his props he has come from a hard working background and he is living the American dream.

      Imagine if stevenson pulled out of the purse bid he would get 100 time more racist hate from boxing fans than he already does....

      Those same punks already seem to have forgotten kkkovalev pulling out of the purse bid.... How convenient
      That's not Kovalev, that's Kathy Duva. But maybe you are not able to understand that :
      Kovalev -> boxer (he move his fists, you know...)
      Duva -> promoter (deals, contracts, money, purse bid...)

      The double standard is nowadays between USA/UK versus Eastern european boxers.

      By the way, Stevenson ducked :
      - Kovalev ;
      - Jean-Pascal ;
      - Hopkins ;
      - Alvarez (not for a long time...)
      - Beterbiev

      That's a ****ing top ducker.

        You still mad about Foul Hymen embezzling money for the bankrupt Predictable Boring Crap fight series while GBP remains the leader in the sport with the biggest stars and most successful PPV's. Stay salty

            Crazy thing is Smith looked hurt before he caught Fonfara and I thought it was going to be a 1 round fight. It was, just with a different winner.

            Crazy how 1 punch can change your life.

People are also milking the Fonfara upset far too much. Fonfara was considered a tough but limited contender, whose biggest claim to fame was beating a woeful looking Chavez Jr (who was also coming up in weight). People talk now like he was a P4P entrant. In fact, Smith looked extremely lucky to land the haymaker he caught Fonfara with. Bottom line is Smith was the lucky one who got the shot at Hopkins. Several other young light heavies could likely have accomplished a similar result last Saturday night if given the opportunity.
              that was like what 6 years ago? i highly doubt joe smith as raw a fighter as he is anything near the fighter he was in 2010 i mean come on now. it also sounds like it was more of a fluke that his jaw broke and he lost then a beatdown

                  I thought Fonfara was in the process of putting Joe Smith to sleep when he got caught with a sledgehammer of a punch that he wasn't ready for. Smith can throw bricks and he throws them a good amount. Do I think he would beat either Stevenson or Kovalev? Doubtful. Do I think he could stretch either if he catches them with one of his bombs? Yes. Either way, it would be an exciting scrap against either Superman or Krusher. Smith's power really seems to be that one-hitter quitter, chin checker level.

                  I always enjoy watching fighters who have insane power in their fists who also have somewhat suspect chins. They bring drama one way or another...

                    1. WHO is saying or insinuating Smith is a P4P entrant??? Thats a drama queen statement by you. 2. Fonfara had proven to be a top contender division and it was not a haymaker that ended the Fonfara fight, it was over 12 punches that did. So much for the "lucky" BS. 3. No one gives a sht what happened in Smith's 6 pro fight since that was 6 years ago. Smith is a contender, that is a fact. Whether he goes far or not is yet to be determined.
