While Ward x Sergey gets combed out, we can feast on this guy facing Chilemba, Stevenson, Barerra or even washed up JP. I don't mind it. I actually wanna see it. He's gonna get embarrassed beyond recognition at some point but i definitely wanna see it. Why not welcome another potential opponent?? I am all for major players coming in.

No, he doesn't. Kovalev's power cowed Hopkins into playing defense after 1st round. Smith had the flashier outcome but his fight wasn't going anywhere near as well. Myself as well as boxingscene scorecard had Hopkins coming on and believe he was leading 4-3 at the time of the KO. Hopkins was also getting comfortable standing his ground instead of running around like he did in 1st and 2nd.

He never did that against Kovalev.

Stevenson is a different beast. He lacks the technique but his power is dynamite.

I mean, I won't be surprised if his ass will turn into an alcoholic after the first loss. He got that look. I'll be glad if he proves me wrong.
          God bless you.

He hits damn hard and that's obvious. However he can't just talk his way into proving he hits harder than Kovalev or Stevenson. Both of them are terrific punchers with many great KO wins over good fighters to prove it. Both of them would have had no problem KOing the shell of Hopkins that Smith KOed. I like Smith very much. I hope he doesn't become a supper bragger like some other boxers. He should just prove what a big puncher he is in the ring in future fights. Then he will have no need to explain his punching power to anyone.

I disagree with your version of how the Hopkins vs Smith fight was going. I thought Hopkins won one round tops. I didn't see Hopkins getting more comfortable. I saw Hopkins throwing very few punches and mostly holding or going backward. He was getting staggered and hurt often. There was no doubt in my mind that he was going to be KOed very shortly. That's what I saw anyway. I am a big Hopkins fan but he is completely done and just a shell of even the Hopkins who fought Kovalev.

I'm a fan. TKO'ed Hopkins, who I thought was going to beat him and stopped Fonfora in the first round when I had no idea Smith Jr even existed and I knew Fonfora was a decent fighter. I'm now aware of JMJ and will see where goes from here. The two fighters he stopped weren't bums by any stretch, but they were top LHW's.

His left hook is on par with the biggest punchers in the division, very good body puncher too. Not a fan of his defense at all though, I think he's a lesser version of Beterbiev. I do think he's around 1-2 years away from being able to take on the very elite of the division though, too inexperienced.
