He was like a Machine in this fight. and Beating Cotto at 147 was very impressive.

      This.

Also, there have been numerous rumors and plenty of posting on BS regarding a rehydration limit on this fight as well.

Cotto's trainer for this fight was his water boy, and he pretty much trained himself.

I must admit, Pac was a total and absolute MONSTER and destroyed Cotto.

IMHO, the best Pac ever at his absolute peak.

The first 4/5 rounds of this fight are as good as it gets.

I thought he looked even better against Diaz and Hatton. He never was a true welterweight and his natural best fighting weight might be 135 and certainly no higher than 140. He fought at 147 so much because of the bigger money fights. He looked great in the Cotto fight for sure.

If I had to choose the best performance for each great fighter, the choosing which one of Pacquiao fight is the best would be difficult for me.

The fight against Miguel Cotto was his best performance and the most enertaining one, but Oscar De La Hoya's fight was more significant for his career, made him a boxing star and ended with KO

I felt like his most perfect performance was against Hoya. Whatever Hoya was that night, Manny Pacquiao was on - sharp, very reactive and his most fluid self on offense and defensive. He was more flat footed versus Hatton and Cotto and everyone since actually. His Diaz performance was solid, only because he changed his arsenal up against a fellow southpaw, relying heavy on the right hook and uppercut. One performance that doesn't get a lot of mention was the Ledwaba fight - Manny came out not nervous in the slightest and proceeded to light Ledwaba up.

He's had a long career and his longevity is impressive. It's not often you see a guy be a major player at featherweight and then he's a major player at welterweight. He was never a natural welterweight, but Manny Pacquiao is the sole reasons why people have high expectations of him, he showed them the unthinkable and now people expect it.

As for significance, I can understand why the Cotto fight was impressive.

Yeah, that was definitely one of the best fights of Pacman's career. So many people had Cotto winning going into it but he got ****ed up.

The Oscar fight got his name in the mainstream and people talking did you see that little buzzsaw boxing circles around Oscar?

The Hatton fight KO was the talk of the town, Little Asian Monster they were calling him at my old job lol, and you had people saying man he will KO Floyd.

The Cotto fight was legendary if there was a cap I would have thought dang no way, even to this day, Im still in disbelief. I knew Cottos size was too much but dang that first 4 round was insane, it was also Cotto willing to die and not quit people forget that Cotto had something to prove HE SURE AS HELL DIDNT FIGHT like no WEIGHT DRAINED man so squash that BS people who are drained fight Oscar did versus Pac or Canelo did vs Floyd like a dam statue, Cotto came out ferocious and continued he had no quit even when he got on his bike his face was mush, the ref just called it off should have let it continue.

Another thing its the only Loss in Cottos Career that he stayed in the ring to do a post fight interview and gave full praise to his opponent as to say WOW, he was in awe himself.

Pacquiao revived the excitement in boxing he was at his peak if only the casuals seen him in his prime at featherweight.
