This would be Canelo 5th fight on HBO with the Cotto fight being the only significant fight. At some point HBO has to put its foot down.

Let's be honest here, everyone and their mother will fight Chavez Jr. because 1. he's a name that brings money to the table, 2. is a clearly limited and beatable fighter, and 3. there's always the "he was too big" excuse in case you lose.

GGG is a better fighter who happens to pay substantially less than Chavez Jr. I don't know why that's so hard for JMM, or anyone else to understand. It's a no-brainer.

GGG-Canelo is a super fight, it would generate more revunue and do more ppvs buys than Chavez vs Canelo. In my opinion.

Canelo-GGG is (or was, at this point I don't even know) the biggest fight in boxing.

Chavez jr-Canelo could do very similar numbers.

The simple answer, JMM, is that Chavez Jr brings more money and viewers to the table than Mr 97K.
