The thing about GGG is that GGG would just hide behidn that jab and knows how to fight on the back foot if you have power. Lemieux showed that GGG has a great defense, and varies how he adapts to a fight. GGG walks through people whom who does not have power and hides behind that jab and counter right hand if the guy has power. GGG isn't going to let Jacobs get closer and closer to him, he will fight on the back foot unless needed to be, he knows Jacobs can knock him out if he tries to let him get on that upper cut.

In close GGG won't be able to load up to generate power and Jacobs can use his speed and also utilize the clinch to neutralize GGG, clinching will be key and he shouldn't shy away from clinching early to neutralize GGG and to wear him down, once it gets late in the fight he can use his jab and try to fight on tge outside a bit with hopes of GGG getting worn out by all the inside fighting/rough housing, then Jacobs might have a chance of GGG losing power and him surprising GGG by a big extended shot.

Right hook left uppercut and jab to the body, these 3 punches will be key as well.
Though the question should be asked is. "How would Jacobs get close to GGG?" We all know that GGG isn't going to walk through jacobs punches like he did to brook because he knows brook has no power. He would hide behind that jab and won't give Jacobs the chance, and would let his hands go immediately if Jacobs is trying to close in on him. Though Lemieux is limited, we could conclude that GGG is indeed defensively responsible with guys that has power.

Ask Andre Ward for help in sparring and learn some of those in-fighting, roughhousing tactics, and work the body constantly. His best chance is to fight on the inside from the get go. I doubt Jacobs is capable of that for long.

Just as I said that I don't believe Jacobs is capable of outboxing GGG for 12 rounds based on what he has shown so far, same applies to GGG when it comes to fighting off the back foot, GGG is an aggressive, come forward counter puncher by nature, he backs u up with jabs, shifting, feinting and changing levels and as soon as he gets where he wants then he waits for you to make a mistake and he makes you pay for it mostly with ur back against the ropes, Lemieux had very bad defensive fundamentals that will always keep him away from being an elite fighter, if you fought 8 rounds against any kind of fighter and you couldn't slip or parry a single jab just for once, you shouldn't be fighting at a championship level anyways even if you were against Larry damn Holmes!

I don't know how effective GGG can be when having pressure put on him and being roughed up, at least not at the level of Jacobs who is btw an offensive minded fighter too. I never saw GGG counterpunch on the back foot or fight off the ropes like a Canelo for instance, we'll see if he can do that.

              Is this a serious question?

Stevens couldn't even KO Jesse Brinkley. Stevens couldn't even stop a guy that took the fight on one day notice. Instead he got stopped himself. Stevens couldn't even drop Ndam, a guy that was dropped close to a dozen times prior.

Stevens power isn't in the same stratosphere as Jacobs

id also advise dj not to throw punches for the sake of throwing punches. be purposeful. dont get caught in between exchanges if you can.

dont fight going backwards. circle. hone your countering skills. take advantage of his aggression. similar to when offenses exploit teams that are sack happy.

the jab; dont be weak with it. make that a weapon. force 3g to reset. if your jab is g@y, dont bother.

i dont think for a moment that dj is scared, so confidence wont be a problem. a proper game plan, a reliable tank and dont put your chin in harms way. either way, this fight is not going to the judges. someones getting pacquiao'd.

He needs to walk down the yellow brick road and ask the wizard for a new chin

Stevens is not a huge puncher at all, he can hurt you if he catches you but his one punch KO power is B- level, 62% KO ratio is not all that impressive for a so called power puncher to be honest. Jacobs has 88% KO ratio and both faced the same kind of opposition with the exception of the GGG fight.
