After Golden Girl 's last PPV debacle this would be a great save face HBO Boxing After Dark scrap. It's blatantly obvious Canelo doesn't want to be within three feet of GGG and calling Chavez Jr a super star elite would be selling snake skin oil to the feeble minded.

So marketing this fight on a regular HBO broadcast would be the most feasible option considering we are deprived of the obvious choice for a mega event with GGG.

If Chavez prices himself out then canelo will just give the lottery ticket to someone else. Chavez doesn't have much leverage and could easily lose his next fight ala the Fonfara disaster and come away with nothing. He made only 2.5m for the Fonfara fight and definitely less for his last fight which wasn't even on showtime. Wasn't getting anywhere this amount for any other fight including the jack fight that he pulled out of. Look at how cheap GGG is and how little he has offered his opponents he ain't get 5m from him. So where is his next payday coming from? Be lucky that you getting this shot that quite frankly you don't deserve.

Canelo is not a hype job but Chavez Jr was over hyped. He was living off his father's name and was only impressive when he had a size advantage and/or was fighting a relatively stationary target.

Exactly. Being cheap? Chavez made 3m for the biggest fight of his career against Sergio forever ago. Biggest payday he has the last 2 years was 2.5 against fonfara. Golden willing to double that. He ain't getting 5m fighting anybody else and could get retired his next fight by any c class big man his own size. These dumb fighters and their inflated views of themselves. LMAO

By crumbs he means a few million I guess...
That's not crumbs and its disrespectful to treat such a large sum of money that way when the majority of your fans wont ever see that type of cash.
Shouldn't even be going for a fight like this so soon we don't even know how committed JCC Jr is to his training yet he is getting offered the biggest fight about after one tune up after a long time off?

$5 Million isn't that bad for someone who was tko'd by Fonfara. Just take the money. If he could score an upset over Canelo then he can demand more money, not now. If he trained properly he might have beaten Sergio Martinez but he didn't, so was a win for Maravilla there. He must dedicate himself to the sport, as living on the famous name is not enough.

My problem is that both Canelo and GGG do **** like this, yet both fanbases act like its only a tactic used exclusively by the other side.

K2 are NOTORIOUS for lowballing. Yet suddenly, GBP is the cheapest promoter in town. I'm not even gonna go into the whole "Anybody from 154-168 can get it... But 164 for Ward" debacle. Yet according to the Canelo fanbase. Alvarez trying to enforce Caneloweight, at 168 isn't an issue. Then there's the string of lackluster opponents on both sides.

These two are supposedly the faces of/best in the sport, yet they're both acting in a manner unbecoming of champions, and this will only. Serve to damage the sport in the long run.

AJ is my personal hope for the sport. He knows how to charm the media and through the media, casuals. He's starting to step up his competition by taking on the HW King of the last decade. People can talk about Fury, but Fury isn't a boxer at the moment. And lastly, I can't help but like a professional athlete who treats his body like a pro athlete should. Gym rat, work ethic, always tryna improve.

So I just hope that AJ reaches the heights he promises to reach.

If chavez feels disrespected by double the money he can get from fighting anyone else then let the idiot sit home eating fruit loops in his underwear. The list of fighters that are begging for a shot at making career payday money stretches around the corner. Canelo is the cash cow right now and has no shortage of options. Hell the man did almost 300k ppvs and record breaking over 50,000 fans to see him fight a guy who has never fought on US television before. Complete unknown fighter to american audience and it still did double ppvs, almost triple the live gate in ticket sales of GGG only HBO ppv.

OK, so wait and see what K2 offers you for GGG vs. Chavez Jr., or what Arum offers for Zurdo Ramirez, and then take the biggest offer!

5 Million is fair considering where Jr.'s career is.

Especially if he is getting a piece of the upside...
