That's why I don't like the term "cherrypick." When two guys face off there is always a chance the underdog can win. There have been many cases throughout boxing history of so called "cherrypicks" blasting out the guys who are favorites in emphatic fashion.
A cherrypick gone wrong is still a cherrypick. If the intent was to avoid credible threats by picking someone who appears beatable or an outright certain victory, it's a cherrypick in my book.
So they brought in this Joe smith guy as a stay busy for Fonfara, he won, then Hopkins brought him in for a retirement fight and he won that too?
That's funnier than the memes to be honest. I like when that kind of **** backfires.
LOL yea I haven't even gotten to that level of thought about this fight yet. I thought Joe Smith was cannon fodder for both guys & he blasted both guys like he was supposed to win the whole time. He's definitely the upset guy of the year & both his fights this year should be in the running for upset of the year.
