Hopefully he continues his graceless schtick by saying he hurt his ankle or got pushed or something.

Never cared for this fight and don't care for any future B Hop fights.

This is worse than Walters quitting. Hopkins got knocked out and had 20 and had twice as long to recover and he still quit. Memories of him quitting in the Dawson fight. He's a quitter. Period.

Can't say I feel much sympathy for Hopkins here, especially considering the (expected) excuse making after the fact and his generally *****ty behaviour in and out of the ring over the years. I hope he swallows his pride and retires though. He finally looked his age, both physically and performance wise. Odds on whether he does or not.

If the ego of Hopkins holds, he'll be insisting on a re-match in the next several days or weeks.....

20 seconds is fine if you have a little fall, but how was he supposed to recover from a fall like that (a big drop and landing directly on his back/head) and be back in the ring within 20 seconds?
he was out from the punches before he hit the ground also he had people helping him up which would have automatically disqualified him instead being counted out.you have to make it back into the ring under your own power.

Yep, I thought that immediately when they were helping him. But I think they were helping more from a is this guy all right perspective but all the same fight was over as soon as they touched him.

Even poor man's Floyd, Andre Ward, is also "undefeated" and just "beat" most people's second or third favorite fighter...

So you have nothing to complain. The fans who like those kinds of fighters have won every major battle in boxing like the last decade. Those elite defensive fighters get every big opponent on all of their own terms, at the perfect time for them, with refs and judges helping them, and so they win every major battle. But then when it comes time that people who like exciting fighters might get a win on their side, like with GGG, the fighters you like just duck them for five - ten years and never even give them that opportunity to get the big win, and so we never get it.

So be happy man. Boxing is still skewed towards the fighters you like.
This post is full of bias and a tinge of racism lol. You talk as if the fighters you like aren't getting breaks or easy fights. GGG has fought nobodies and I bet you can't even name his last five opponents without looking it up on boxrec and you definitely can't name the guys they fought before entering the ring with GGG yet he is one of the most popular fighters in boxing.

And Floyd didn't ruin the sport. Since it is still here more than a year after his retirement. Its just that people don't care about the sport as much as they used to. The sport has been fading in popularity for years and the Mayweather Pacquiao rivalry is what kept it alive. If the fight happened between the two 5 years ago the sport would have gone into irrelevancy 5 years ago.

But you people are short sighted. You were so desperate to see the man lose and now you're bitter that it never happened while he made himself insanely rich lol. He essentially used the hatred of the "fans" to line his pockets and it worked brilliantly.

                      thank you !!!

thank you for retiring Hopkins, I admire how he represents veteran athletes all over but long before he was a veteran athlete, he was very boring. I would have preferred a Latino beating him but, oh well.
