I'm still not sure getting knocked out of the ring in that manner should end a fight.

Had those shots just knocked him down, he'd have got up. It was the fall that caused concern.

Good win for Smith.. However, I'm not sure what this means for him. I don't think he is on the Ward, Kov, Stevenson tier of 175. It's not like this is 30 or even 40 year old Hopkins. Good win for Smith, but I still don't know where to put him in the pecking order of the division. I look forward to seeing what else he has... a fight with Barrera would be good...

20 seconds is fine if you have a little fall, but how was he supposed to recover from a fall like that (a big drop and landing directly on his back/head) and be back in the ring within 20 seconds?

I don't think I believe the ankle excuse but I do believe he likely would have hurt his back bad from that fall depending on how hard that floor is.

Rules seem fine to me. Flying out of the ring is no fluke in a boxing match. You either get sent out by punches or are looking at the ropes to save you.

In kung fu duels (movies).. you fall off the platform, you lose immediately. Not saying it should be like these kung fu duels... but the same principles applies.

The ring is where you box/fight. If you get sent out, that's your problem.
