That really was a beautiful knockout though. The way Pirog shifted southpaw to square Jacobs up, and then came over the top with the right hand was picture perfect.

Jacobs is chinny, that is the expected outcome, GGG by KO. Fighters don't become #1 by doing things people expect, they get that spot by doing the extraordinary. GGG being ranked #4 by The Ring and #6 by TBRB is already crazy, ESPN having him #2 is ridiculous. Maybe ESPN will have him #1, but no one else will. ESPN is a joke though, both Ward and Kovalev are better than GGG. Lomachenko already has better wins than GGG too, and in higher weight classes. Canelo has better wins too, and is younger. But since GGG defeats his bad opposition faster than Canelo defeats his good opposition, he's "better". That's boxing. Beat the cans better than the good fighters and it makes you better.

        Rinse and repeat.
Speaks volumes about his resume. His best win will be against a guy who featherfisted Mora knocked down. Him being his best name doesn't take away from this fight having a clear favorite because the other guy is chinny. Jacobs being chinny and the fight being highly predictable doesn't take away from Jacobs being the best name so far.

The fight will be both, GGG's best win to date and predictable/most fans think of one outcome.

Kell Brook was his previous best name, that didn't take away that it was a mismatch.

he's a fraud and will stay a fraud..not one proper win on his resume..he's fighting a b level fighter again...next fight probably a welterweight again..that dude shouldn't be on any fkn list...maybe the cherry picking list next to danny garcia

So GGG inherited all the pac Tardss? wtf, f no he won't be p4p #1. Jacob doesn't even crack the top 20 he is a lower B lvl fighter and still be GGG best name in his resume if he wins. and he only got himself to blame for having a ***** tier promoter. most of the dudes at 154 need to move up and are huge for the weight, 160 has good potential to explode but everyone wants to pretend like they're smaller men. this era full of estrogen. smh. 165 is trash, so GGG moving up won't do much and it would be the same story that is now. Zurdo is the only interesting name, that is if he continues to win and grow his name cause right now he isn't that great himself.

Well that rather depends how good they are doesn't it? If they were a top P4P fighter and 85% picked you to beat 'em it'd rather suggest you probably belong at #1 already...

...But Jacobs ain't a top P4Per and a win ain't really gonna do loads for Golovkins status except further cement him as the top MW in the world.

No....there have been fights this year with P4P entrants, unification bouts with 2 elite guys, etc

Ward, Kovalev, Chocolatito, Bud Crawford, Loma and others are taking on stiffer competition.

1 good win over a prime opponent wont be enough, considering how average the rest of his comp has been

it will solidfy his place as # 1 at 160 doe.

You can give points to lomo for beating russell and walters but at the same time minus a point for losing to a journeyman like salido who has 9 losses. GGG has barely lost rounds in the last 23 fights. No fighter has been as dominant as ggg. You can cry opposition all you want but he makes them look like trash.

There's plenty of fighters in the p4p who haven't beaten p4p fighters. Gonzalez is an example and so is lomochenko.
                      barely..lost...rounds..to..who?

its not like he has fought the type of competition Roman Gonzalez, Kovalev, Canelo and others have

its not hard to be dominant with his kind of talent vs the level of opposition he faces

idk why people act oblivious to this fact....level of opposition matters and his isnt as formidable as the other p4p entrants
