The substance stiverne was busted for was actually a more established ped than meldonium which has a big debate around whether its even moe beneficial than caffiene. Povetkins levels were also something like 1/100th of the legal limit so he never officially tested dirty.

I was standing up for both Povetkin and Stiverne -- saying traces of pseudo GNC stuff shouldn't be treated with the same severity as anabolic steroids -- but I guess Stiverne is an idiot.

So the WBC accepted Povetkin's story that he didn't micro dose and that the meldonium in his system was residual. They also accepted Stiverne's story that he ingested the banned substance through an energy drink. Why is either story more or less truthful? Assuming both stories are true, one guy intentionally took chemicals to enhance his performance the other guy drank the wrong energy drink.

This is the WBC we're talking about...they've let a few fights go through regardless of who gets caught with whatever.
