Typical white supremacist Midwest judge. I've been in front of one myself and TC had no shot. Meanwhile a Stanford kid is humping unconscious women and getting the same sentence. This judge needs to be thrown off the bench if any past cases prove this was biased and he should be prosecuted. There was even a case her recently where a white supremacist pistol whipped a black man and threatened another at gunpoint and he got 90 days. He got out and killed people and shot another person in the face, the judge in that case should be prosecuted as well.

The guy can literally buy 5 of the same model car. He's going to end up paying 10 times the amount he would have and maybe do time. It's laughable. He may end up showering with other naked men behind bars because his pride got the best of him.Last edited by wrecksracer; 12-16-2016, 05:50 PM.Comment

Then you can help me understand why his car was on a 6' lift for a PAINTJOB??? Too me it looks like he did that on purpose so Crawford couldn't take his car out of there. You shouldn't be able to hold someone's car for ransom. Some shop tried telling me legally they couldn't let me take my car because the break were so bad. They wanted me to buy $2000 worth of brake parts. All 4 new calipers, rotors, pads. I told them *** off went somewhere else where they just replaced the pads and said EVERYTHING else was good...JiffyLube is CROOKS. My bill went from $2K to $300 with labor. That's ignorant. I used to work in a bodyshop and there are common legal avenues when dealing with disputes like he had. I saw these things happen often and the only time I saw someone try to "take it back", that fool ended up in jail. Crawford handled it the WRONG way. I like Bud a lot but we can't let people we like off the hook for acting like ****** POS's.Comment

One of those amazing times that show the average IQ of this site. We have people arguing over race, court room ethics, etc...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT ACTUALLY OCCURED?
I don't... Have not seen one description in the media. So lets suppose Crawford comes in has his friends with him and shop owner calls him a n**g**R and tells him to go **** himself.
Or, lets suppose the shop owner does the work and asks for an autograph and Crawford then says "scr**w you sell the autograph" when the shop owner asks for payment after the shop guy pleads with him and offers him a discount.
And then in court lets suppose the judge is a fatcat who is paid off by the local prison to send people in (it happened in pennsylvania).... Or, lets suppose the judge is a great guy and Crawford, hot off the second scenerio tells the judge to kiss his anus.
ALL DIFFERENT scenerios! yet idiots are already pulling into their agendas, assuming things about the situation.

It doesn't matter what they "should" or "shouldn't" be able to do, what matters is the law. It's called a mechanic's lein and I've seen it in action several times. Then you can help me understand why his car was on a 6' lift for a PAINTJOB??? Hopefully, this will clear it up for you guys who don't understand. I didn't know about this either until I worked in the hot rod biz for a little while.

Question; I'm in a serious fight with my mechanic over the final cost he is charging me for repairs. He says he can keep my car until I pay the full amount. Can he really do that?
Response; Yes. Your mechanic has the legal right to keep your car until you pay the entire repair bill. This is referred to as a mechanic's lien or garageman's lien, which basically secures payment to the repair shop for the repairs that have been provided. The repair shop can keep your car even when you disagree with the final bill, which usually happens in situations where the final bill is significantly higher than the initial estimate. In that situation, you should clearly express your disagreement with the cost and ask the repair shop to write out the specific reasons for the difference in cost. If you still cannot come to a compromise, you may want to consider paying the entire bill in order to get your car back. If you do pay the entire bill, be sure to save all the relevant paperwork in case you decide to file a complaint or bring a claim in small claims court.Comment

Spot on. This is the law. Many jurisdictions require the mechanic to receive authorization for any additional work done. But the mechanic has the right to withhold property until payment is remitted in full. It's the same law that we've used in the moving business to withhold belongings of storage customers who didn't pay. Also, for example, if a roofer does work and you don't pay him, he can put a mechanic's lien on your house and collect from any proceeds from a sale of that house. The law is designed to protect mechanics and workers from customers who would defraud them and leave the mechanic with no recourse to recoup their losses. It doesn't matter what they "should" or "shouldn't" be able to do, what matters is the law. It's called a mechanic's lein and I've seen it in action several times.

As far as Mr Crawford, a lot depends on the amount of damage that was done to the lift. Under NE law, there are three levels of property damage misdemeanor charges. The top level carries up to a year, the mid level carries up to 6 months, and the lower level carries up to 3 months, with each charge carrying varying levels of fines as well. The disturbing the peace charge also carries up to 3 months active jail time and I believe up to $500 fineComment

K TY I didn't know that??? So what if they do a bunch of repairs you didn't even sign off on??? Too me I can see a huge scam if you fix a ride and then demand way more $$$$. This towing business got popped because they would tow vehicles around holidays and weekends to charge way extra to get them out. And would also hide vehicles from owners to get way more $$$$ or keep the vehicle if u couldn't t pay.It doesn't matter what they "should" or "shouldn't" be able to do, what matters is the law. It's called a mechanic's lein and I've seen it in action several times.
