  • My Analysis of Klitschko vs Joshua

What is intriguing about this fight is neither fighter is 100% favourite to win, I hear people saying this will be a slugfest, Joshua is going to KO klitschko, klitschko is going to take AJ to school. Yeah I hear all of that.

Let me tell you from now, I have watched boxing for about 15 years now, I was a manic fan of the mike Tyson era, Floyd Mayweather also. This fight I am not excited about because I fear what may happen and I hope it doesn’t.

I believe klitschko will win on points and I will tell you why

Klitschko is no underrated as a defensive fighter, in my opinion he is one of the greatest defensive heavyweights I have ever seen, this guy has mastered the skill of movement and dictating the pace in the ring. If you watch all of his fights, he specifically wants to fight guys who are KO specialists for example Alexander Povetkin who has won 30 fights 22 by KO, Lamon Brewster who has won 35 fights 30 by KO, Bryant Jennings who won 19 fights 10 by KO, the list can go on and on.

The great Emanuel Steward turned klitschko from an aggressive puncher to a defensive-orientated boxer hence making him the second longest reigning heavyweight champion is HISTORY. Emanuel steward believed the days of being an aggressive puncher is over, if you wanted to increase the longevity of your boxing career then you should learn how to not be aggressive but be patient and know how to nullify your opponent. Ask lennox lewis that is exactly how he beat mike Tyson, and later beat a hungry vitlali klitschko who was a young aggressive puncher.

Im not saying Joshua is not a good fighter, trust me I believe
Joshua can be a world class fighter, but I believe this is too soon for him because I watch all of his fights, and one thing that he lacks is head movement. If you can’t move your head, all klitschko has to do is jab jab and then win on points, my fear is that Joshua will try to treat klitschko like the other fighters he has fought and you cannot do that, not against a guy who knows how to beat KO specialists. Joshua needs to change his game slightly and not be aggressive but patient.

Watch how Tyson won the fight, from a casual point of view it was a horrendous fight, but from a technical view it was impressive from fury. Fury knew there is no point is trying to KO klitschko and plus even fury learned that you can KO people all you like but there will come a time where a fight will ask of you to be technical and patient and I don’t know is Joshua has that in him because of his inexperience.

I would love to be proven wrong and see Joshua beat klitschko but looking at the opponents of klitschko and how similar they are to Joshua, it is hard to bet against klitschko, look at what he did to david haye, he completely nullified his strengths and haye could not land any hayemakers on him

How is Jennings a KO specialist? He's knocked out only slightly over half the guys he's faced.

The big problem with w Klit and ward is the same problem with Hatton.

They r hometown fighters. They impose a lot of illegal tactics like holding. That's why home court ref is a must.

This fight is in the UK with the most biased ref jobs around. The complexion of this fight will not have any resemblance to the povertkin fight.

He will be forced to trade

I dont know how you came to the conclusion that klitschko likes to fight ko specialists.

        Last 10:
Tyson Fury - not a hard puncher
Bryant Jennings - not a hard puncher
Kubrat Pulev - has stingy shots, most KO due to accumulation
        Alex Lepai - Is nothing
        Alexander Povetkn - Decent Puncher
        Francesco Pianeta - nothing
Mariusz Wach - big sack of ****
Tony Thompson - good boxer, no power
        Jean Marc Mormeck - lol
        David Haye - Puncher

So out of his last 10 fights he has faced 2 punchers.

And out of these 2 guys haye is undersized and povetkin doesnt really know how to fight taller fighters (Wach is not an example, he was just garbage).

We have not all the answers about Joshua - especially stamina, chin and defense, but he has youth, power and size on his side.

Klitschko lost his last fight, is about to get 41 and started to slip since the jennings fight. One of Klitschkos best defensive move besides keeping opponents at bay with his jab is to clinch and put weight on the smaller opponent to exhaust them.
It works against undersized and slow guys, but I dont think he can clinch Joshua as easily.

I also dont think its a good idea to comeback with an undefeated, power puncher.

wlad the defensive specialist...hmmm yeah if you think clinching is legit defense. his actual defense and movement suck as we saw when he fought a guy he couldn't clinch in fury. he was slow and robotic. joshua doesnt fight like fury so someone will be getting ko'd. both guys have power and probably bad chins(we know wlad does, joshua is suspect)

No fight is 100% sure one guy will win, otherwise the fight would do poorly commercially. However, don't worry about what you think will be the outcome, Anthony Joshua will beat Klitschko and probably knock him out.

It'll be painful for me, because even though I like AJ, I like Wlad more.

Wlads main problem here, as someone has stated above is he won't be allowed to clinch. Also, although he looks fractionally talker so far I think when they are in the ring in boxing boots they will be the same height and Joshua will be stronger do he won't even be able to clinch.

That's a big part of his game, you take it away and he's going to have problems.

He wasn't allowed to clinch Jennings and looked horrible. Fury didn't let him clinch and he looked horrible.

Neither of those guys can punch. Joshua can.

                Dangerous fight for wlad

I don't see the similarities between Povetkin and Joshua. Can you please enlighten me?
