Remember when Marquez beat Pacquiao? Did Marquez become a PPV Star? Just because you beat the top cash cow in boxing doesnt make a PPV star. It take multiple fights with big names. 60% Canelo to 40 % GGG. GGG brings 4 titles WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO. Im already in favor of Canelo because their are more Mexicans in American who would buy the PPV compare to Kazak people in America. Again Canelo is not a PPV Mega star, 250 K PPVs on Mexican Indpendence Day vs Smith.

I agree with that..... but, the problem is this.....
* Canelo has never fought AT middleweight
* Canelo has never fought A middleweight
* Canelo has been the WBO JMW champ since Sep
I just think that ranking by lineage is ridiculous, period.
Canelo has never been a genuine middleweight, let alone a genuine middleweight champ, let alone the best in the division..... it is absurd to refer to him as a middleweight "anything"
I think you might be confusing The Ring (and others) methodology, with lineage..... having the #1/#2 fight to determine the champion
The Ring do not crown lineage..... they use it to determine rankings, unfortunately
the only way a lineal champ can be recognized is when a fighter unifies ALL of the titles, or beats someone who has
lineage is waaaay over-rated..... back in the day there was no lineal champ, because we had a real champ
YOU think that Jacobs/Golovkin can beat Saunders
you are probably right, we will know if/when that ever happensComment

when has Golovkin ever beaten a big name ?
You just admitted that Golovkin has NO leverage whatsoever and NO justification to demand more money from Canelo.Comment

What he wants is a percentage share of the income the fight generates.Comment

I'm starting to like Jr. I like his outlook and how it appears he wants to fight Canelo for the Sport of Boxing. It will be huge for Cinco De Mayo and he appeared to focused on staying in shape. The winner will most likely fight GGG. If Canelo can fight at 165, then there won't be any excuse for not fighting at 160, especially if he wins. If he loses, he may get a pass for making Khan go up. That fight will do huge numbers and the GGG fight may even become bigger.Comment

What you refer to in terms of unifying all the titles is an Undisputed Championship. This is completely different to a lineal champion. A good example is Roy Jones, who was the Undisputed champion at 175, but was not the lineal champion
The lineal champion is supposed to be 'the man who beat the man' (the man is a loose term), in that the championship is handed over when you beat the current holder. If the championship becomes vacant, the 1 vs 2 fighters vie for the title. The RING became a very unpopular version of the lineal title when it started recognising match ups like 2 vs 5 for its version.
Whilst a good system in theory, it falls flat when the current holder of the lineal title is not the no.1 fighter in the divisionComment
