I don't know, I'm not sure he wants to fight anymore. Just based on what he's been saying. There's not much reason for him talking the way he has been because with the win he's even more of the A-Side. Many thought he lost but he got the decision. But he's never going to beat Kovalev by a wide margin, so what's the point? Ward is pretty cerebral, close fight he got the decison, pretty close to about as good as he's going to do. Maybe that's good enough. Maybe he walks away.

Me I'd like to see him fight Kovalev again, come in lighter and faster and then I'd like to see him meet GGG at 168. That would be a legacy.

He never once tried to rematch Byrd even though they were closely ranked for several years afterwards. Should Ward do the same thing after his razor thin victory than you will see myself and many other objective boring fans call him on it. Give it time though man. One month after the fight with no rematch in place is not a duck.
Lewis said on national television he'd give Vitali a rematch too.. what fighters say on tv isn't necessarily what's going to happen.

And how do you know he didn't try to rematch him? You don't. Vitali's shoulder injury required surgery and a lengthy recovery, during which he obviously wouldn't have been able to train for a rematch. As too much time passed, Vladimir was eventually replaced as opponent for Byrd. After Byrd lost to Vlad, the Vitali fight didn't materialize anyway, didn't make business/financial sense.

He may not give Kovalev a return, but come on now. It's to early to go that route just yet.

It is what it is, he ripped HBO, the fans, and Kovalev off. Now, he wants to run off to retirement land, the same plot that Mayweather used to use when he wanted to avoid a fight.

Vits fought a month after Wlad fought Byrd. That is not my point to drag up this fight, but exactly what you said. Fighters say a lot of things after a fight. My point is give it time to play out before making a rash judgment about ducking.

Ward is running scared of Kovalev. He knows he lost the first fight. He almost cried after the knockdown. Just watch his eyes. They got wet and he was scared to death. I applaud him for surviving 12 rounds with the beast from Russia, but he lost 9 rounds.

Sure, my point was politics are always involved and let's not begin to pretend Vitali would avoid Byrd or something.

As for this one, I don't believe Ward wants it and he has hinted retirement too I believe.

That's fine, you have you opinion, I have mine. But you said it yourself, fighters say a lot of things. It's been a month. How many rematches are made in a month?

I know, it's going to take time. Might happen, might not. Surely the fans deserve another fight, it was a pretty good one too, after all
