Hearn has done a great job.

Haymon, however, has been directly involved in the 2 highest grossing fights in the history of the sport and is responsible for the 5 most watched fights in the last 2 years - Floyd/Manny, Thurman/Guerrero, Garcia/Guerrero, Thurman/Porters and Spence/Bundu.

Whats the better phone? Iphone or a live frog?

Cmon man. This stuff is getting old.

That said I think its extremely arguably right now that Eddie Hearn is the best promoter in boxing. Hearn is maybe the only guy putting on events in boxing. Oscar puts on Canelo fights vs no hopers these days. Arum puts on one fight, hopefully people care about, + a bunch of prospects or contenders vs guys with no chance. PBC promoters put on more competitive fights than anyone arguably, but most are guys no one f#cking knows cuz their model doesn't work towards building a continued upward trajectory narrative for a boxer very well.

You're right, I shouldn't discredit those numbers. And I still believe that the best is yet to come from the PBC.

I'll still say that Eddie is giving the sport more based on the attendance numbers he draws consistently and the fan's level of excitement. The sport can't survive without money from the fans, and they're dropping money on the sport all over the UK.

Matchroom will put 90,000 asses in Wembley, and Al would need Floyd to fight Canelo, Pac, and GGG on the same night to draw those numbers in America.

              Couple things to consider:

Live gate: Floyd tickets are far more expensive than any tickets for any Hearn guy. I respect the big crowds, but 40,000 seats cost as much as 4,000 at a Floyd fight. If Floyd fought either of those men you listed in Wembley he'd more than triple the gate of what any Hearn guy would make.

Schaefer: Now that he is doing the promoting we have already seen the benefits of his experience. Now he will be building fights better and putting on better matches. PBC, for all its problems, didn't have a network paying rights fees, they were operating on time buys. this year it appears they have the rights fees from networks to do fights. As we've seen with early schedules this is leading to PBC putting on much better fights. Hearn has a much more polished operation though.

Hearn, is doing a tremendous job. I just think much of the good things Haymon has done gets forgotten.

to be honest i dont care, promtoer/manager, whatever, you know what i meant. Even though hes not in the spotlight he still plays a role in promoting fights via pbc. Think you and gruber etc are trying to deflect from the poll by nitpicking my choice of words

Hearn is great at publicising his shows. And that's partly because, like David Haye said, he is an egotistical guy who loves getting in front of a camera, or up on a stage, and talking to the public, which is the opposite of how Haymon operates.

And as you say, Hearn's shows are not just a bunch of boxing matches, they are events, that even people who are not big boxing fans can get drawn into and enjoy. They have real atmosphere, a blend of 80's US style razzmatazz from the Don King era and a big premiership football match.

Hearn has done a great job getting the Sky Sport behemoth behind boxing again after they almost dropped the sport following some diabolical PPVs (thanks David Haye).

Obviously you have to give him credit for that. He is also the most tech/social media savvy promoter on the planet. Everyone could learn from how he exploits twitter, facebook, YouTube etc. Match up wise i would say Hearn is about par for the course. Some good, some bad, some ugly.

But its Sky that creates the casual hype and puts bums in seats imo. They also provide the platform that attracts all the top UK stars to him. If Hearn went on his own like Warren did, i doubt he would be nearly as successful. But then isnt providing the best platform and allying yourself to the best network part of what makes a good promoter? Imo yes.

Haymon was doing well with HBO and GBP. PBC has been a mixed bag so far. But i respect the hustle. No one has attempted to do what he is doing (or at least not with the backing he has) and its going to take some time. Just depends whether he runs out of money before he can get across the finish line
