    GBP needs to stop with the Mexican vs. Mexican BS...

    Its getting played out. And it does no good for its stable. The days of Barrera vs Morales & Marquez vs Vasquez are long gone. Sure fights like Salido vs Vargas are fun but for a young fighter like Vargas that fight didnt do anything but take some prime away from him and the experience gain was minimal. I have no problem with GBP targeting a certain demographic BUT again GBP isnt doing boxing or its stable any favors with purposed fights like Canelo vs Chavez Jr. #patheticfight.

    Thoughts?

    Schaefer took all its fighters and handed them over to Haymon.

        Despite that De La Hoya still has some good fighters in his stable and PBC isnt the only entity out there he can work with so its frustrating to hear things like that.

          Canelo-Chavez is good. If Canelo doesn't fight him Golovkin will after his mandatory, Canelo taking away Golovkins options and pressuring him to take the $10mil.

            Genuine question;

            In a sport where promoters are ultimately businessmen looking to maximize profits, why would you not make the biggest money fights, and also most watched fights, when they are available?

            Golden Boy are sitting on the biggest draw in boxing, they have a chance to make a fight with him and Chavez which will be absolutely enormous (also an opponent Golovkin wanted) - why wouldn't you make it?

              Ive noticed that but he does have some black and asian fighters in his stable. Besides other promoters have non Mexicans in their stable he could work with. I know Top Rank has made endeavors in Asian countries but I think its still an untapped region. Mexican vs. Japanese fighters have produced some explosive fights in the past. Also Asians are very loyal (to their own kind like others can be) so Asian Americans can bring $$$revenue$$$

                I'm actually looking forward to Matthysse's comeback fight. He's Argentinian, not Mexican.

                  IDK man I see it more so as him Canelo and GBP taking advantage of "the Mexican boxing community" not as an F.U. to GGG.

                    Of course they are, but if Canelo doesn't Golovkin will. Might aswell get Chavez out of the picture next.
