Yeah i'd imagine the line up would change. I'm not sure Lem would take part.
Apparently Heiland's manager wasn't happy about not being given the fight outright.

As you said, the tournament thing will probably fall by the wayside.

A GGG trophy would probably carry more status and recognition than most of the trinket belts going around.

This tournament helps GGG. The WBC did it to delay his mandatory obligation until 2018 at the earliest. This is actually good for GGG. He's not stuck fighting Heiland next year. The only bad part is he could be fighting Lemieux or Stevens again

Ughhhh, why can't the winner of Huck–Briedis just be named a #1 contender? Why do they need a fake belt tacked on? Yea, yea, sanctioning fees and all that...

The difference between this tournament and the 147 and 154 tournament is that those fighters had options. What is Stevens doing? Heiland aint really doing nothing. Lemieux might get the Canelo fight if Canelo is healed enough to fight in Feb. But if this Chavez Jr fight goes thru I doubt they'll risk injuring that hand again in Feb. These fighters aren't really doing anything anyway.

                Canelo is a phaget.

knowing the wbc I wouldn't put it past them to make a special ggg belt to give to the winner of the tournament.

The irony would be the winner refuses to face GGG.
