i had it 115-112 for collazo as the worst score possible
116-111 was my true score but there was one close round so i just gave it to hatton

well all i can say is i figured
good now someone else can be the one to beat hatton
if he thinks collazo hit hard hes in for a big surprise

It was a close fight that was really hard to score. With all the close rounds, the fight could've gone either way. When I heard the 115-112 card, I knew they were gonna give the fight to Hatton. I don't think it reaches the level of robbery, but I do feel that Collazo won the fight.

I felt Collazo won the fight, and it really pains me to say it. They only went up to welter to satisfy HBO, but he's still undefeated and hopefully he can make a real statement in his next fight. I wouldnt back him against PBF anymore though

I think there'll be more of a spark in Hatton, like you saw against Tszyu when he fights Floyd!! He didnt conciensely underestinate Collazo. But the burning intencity from Hatton was only 60% for me!!

Congratulations to the tough Hatton for going up in weight and taking the champion's belt. However, I think it was apparent that The Hitman is best suited for 140 right now and scheduling Antonio Margarito right now is perhaps premature. Collazo still has but 12 KOs in his career and he threatened to KD Ricky late in the fight...

Castillo wants Cotto later in the year. I think the winner vs. Hatton in the Spring would be a great fight. In the meantime, Hatton could schedule the Baldomir-Gatti winner while Mayweather concentrates on DLH or Mosley and a huge payday. Or Hatton could fight a Sharmba Mitchell or Chop Chop Corley or someone like that. It's going to take a transition, though, to 147, and jumping in right away might not be Ricky's best option if last night is any indication...

Yo, AS, nice piece. You were spot on when you said Hatton couldn't have picked a worse opponent before the fight. I hold your opinions and analysis in the highest regard, dude. Keep up the good work.

Hatton couldnt beat the other champs, Floyd or Margarito. He was just looking for the easiest championship. Collazo was prolly the easiest fight for him in the top 10 welterweights.

Thanks alot Diego. In my mind, I was expecting a total mismatch, for Collazo to simply dominate him over 12 rounds. While it wasn't like that, it was a very bad style matchup for Hatton. But Hatton fought very well and impressed me in this fight more than he did in any previous fight, save for the Tszyu fight. He showed me that his will and determination can compensate for his shortcomings, qualities that go more than a long way against Pretty Boy Floyd. Great fight anyways.

Ironically, Emmanuel Steward was saying essentially the same things I was saying prior to the fight also. On paper, it looked like a huge mistake, but Hatton showed that you can't deny him all night.

P.S. The wack part is that I busted my ass in a short period of time on this article, and it wont be up till tommorrow. I'm gonna go back to my old Sunday night deadline, because that was some intense writing.
