And how did it come about when Kovalev got Ward in a headlock? Because Ward would bend at the waist and go in for the clinch to try and maul Kovalev. A very good win. At that time Chad Dawson was coming off a big win over Bernard Hopkins and was considered to be the man at light heavyweight. He called out Ward and wanted the fight at 168. Many people thought Chad would be too big and too strong and I believe he was the slight favorite on paper. Ward put on a great performance and dominated. You got to give him some serious credit even though Dawson was most likely weight drained. It was a very good win. I'd give Ward 8.5
