to be completely honest, I hope Indongo tries to unify with Crawford. He will probably lose, but he will get a better payday and could leave himself open to the other fighters in the future. Unless he thinks he can beat Lipinets and doesn't need to cash out now, Crawford is the way to go. It would be worse for him to go out like Troyanovsky: get caught with a big left and now begging for a rematch because a rematch clasuse wasn't in place. Make the unification, so Crawford can hurry up and move up. LOL. -

Depending on when they're looking to stage the fight, Indongo-Lipinets is easily worth chief support placement of a major Showtime Championship Boxing fight card, co-feature on one of the bigger PBC cards, or even headline position for one of the lower-profile PBC events.
Because, while Mares and Cuellar both got $700k apiece to headline the show, Charlo and Williams ended up splitting $800k as the co-feature fight; John Molina fought Terrence Crawford for $400k (minus whatever he had to give up for missing weight).
Victor Ortiz and Brandon Rios seem to be positioned to finally fight; I doubt that Haymon puts Ortiz back on terrestrial TV after being flattened the way he was (though I could be wrong), but that'd be a great scrap to stage on SpikeTV from StubHub.
Lipinets' camp getting the money right to bring Indongo over to SoCal (for a fight, on paper, would seem like the easier fight) isn't unheard of.
Crawford (sitting on $2m, based on what the Molina fight showed, to stage fights) can basically trump things with the money he has (compared to what Lipinets may be able to get together as a co-feature), but I'm not sure how much money Crawford is willing to give up to make the fight anyway.Comment

I was speaking more wishfully than anything. I just want Crawford to move towards unifications, so he can eventually move up. Aside from Broner, there is nothing left for him at that weight. I want good competitive fights, but I acknowledge that some people want to see unifications and I believe Bud wants to be undisputed champ... I don't particularly think about the purses. I just want him to hurry up, so I can get better fights. LOL.Would he though?

To be quite honest, I think Crawford and his brain trusts should allow him to grown into the WW division instead of rushing into it.I was speaking more wishfully than anything. Once he gets there, there is no turning back and there are a lot more dogs who are a whole lot bigger and talented in that division.
There are still fighters like Felix Diaz, Rances Barthelemy, Broner etc, who can keep him busy in his current division.
I honestly do not see the need to rush or even be calling Manny out.Comment

I don't think it would be rushing at all. Crawford is 29 years old. He has how many more years in his prime? 3-5? He has to take advantage of that now. Also, he is coming into fights at about 160. I know some of the WW are heavier, but if past prime Manny can handle it, Crawford definitely can... There are a few fights out there at 140 for him, especially if some people from 135 move up (i.e. Mikey, Linares, Crolla, Zlat, etc.), but he can't depend on that. He needs to be thinking legacy as well as money. Now is not the time the stay busy. Boxing is a young man's sport with some exceptions. Get it while you can... I don't know. I just don't want him to underachieve while hoping for a big fight. That's lame.To be quite honest, I think Crawford and his brain trusts should allow him to grown into the WW division instead of rushing into it.

I may be proven wrong but to me, he just does not look like a fully fledged WW.
I hope he is saving every bit of coin he has cos life as a WW is going to be a whole lot more than what he has to deal with in his current weight class and it may all come crashing down on him because of the size of the opposition he will be facing.
I hope for his sake I am wrong.

You're probably right, considering that Bud doesn't seem interested in moving up himself... And even though Crawford comes in at 160, the WW are coming in at 165-170 and have way more skill than Molina... I just want him to stay at 3 to 4 fights a year and have quality opponents. This was a great year for him.I hear you.
