Hell yea he won. i really dont understand how u can see this fight any other way. Everybody who judged the fight had Hatton winning. It was a great fight, real close, but Hatton was the clear victor. He just has to readjust, take on gatti after improving, and THEN prove himself to the states. He completely misjudged this fighter and wieght class and wasnt himself at all.
20 people say Hatton won
19 people say Collazo won
i thought hatton won, but i can certainly see how people think collazo won. i think the **** about "oh hatton was exposed" is ******, because people who were familiar with both fighters knew it was going to be a tough fight for hatton.
I think the Hatton lovers are just alittle bitter that Hatton didn't perform his typical Manchester style here(even though it was identical). Though more are hating that we believe Collazo won. I think it was a lot closer than some of you are imagining it. I remember I think Harold read his scorecard in the 9th or 10th round and at that point he had Ricky back in the lead with like 3 or 4 rounds won back to back. I was shocked when I saw that because those middle rounds I had picked Collazo pulling ahead in. The clean effective blows I think were definitely Collazos, though he got roughed up from all that inside crap. That really messed his face up.
hatton looked technically sharp. the only problem i had with his performance was that he was too square on and he lacked head movement once he finally got inside. i usually see a jab once he resets and goes back outside but he didn't do it against collazo. i think it was a number of reasons why he didn't fight as well as i perceived he would do:
- he fought a taller, natural welterweight who weighed the same amount as him and was able to wrestle and bully him on the inside.
- he fought an undefeated opponent (practically) who didn't know how to lose and had that 'underdog' effect
- he fought a southpaw
- he wasn't as focused and determined as he usually is. i didn't see the marciano in him today.
I saw clips of Collazo, and thought he had enough tools to outscore Hatton hugely or stop him (and with him being naturally bigger, and a southpaw). You see, I don't think Hatton is anywhere near the fighter he has been in years gone by. I haven't seen tonights fight yet, but I thought he looked absolutely horrible against Tszyu and Maussa (compared to his former self).

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!
For me, Hatton needs to start fighting more regularly again. He's 28 years old so he's already years past his physical peak, and he's only fighting twice a year! And he's blowing up to 190+ between fights! It really is no wonder that his skills have eroded so badly, and physically I don't think it's possible now for him to get all his speed and skills back.
He needs to go back down to 140 though and start fighting more regularly again, because he's not getting any younger and his style suits being younger and fresher than he is.
Talk to me about the fight, because I can't visualise how Ricky could of possibly outscored Collazo if Collazo was in the form I saw him in while Hatton being blown-up, rusty and in no form whatsoever.
Sure, hatton looked great against C level competition. So do many fighters. Ricky is in his prime.

LOL how can you be practically undefeated? You are either undefeated or you are not. Collazo was KO'd by Edwin Cassiani in round 3,therefore he is not undefeated and knows what it is like to lose. LOL nice try though.

i heard the bout with cassiani was a fairly weak stoppage, but that's just me.
