      What exactly was "shocking" about this? He lost to an up and coming prospect and was already on a 3 fight losing streak prior to this fight.

        He lost to a 6-0 prospect who fought and beat practically nobody. The fights Velez lost were against top guys and he was competitive in those bouts,

          Of course it is a shocker when the much more experienced fighter who has fought big names loses to a less experienced novice with only seven fights who has not fought anyone near the caliber of Velez. This goes without saying.
