For years I've been saying the Jr MWs are the best MWs, I'd love this fight.

We're talking about Rosado. He fought...

      Medina at 155; Ennis at 160; Espinal at 158; Guerrero at 156 3/4; Johnson at 156; Onyango at 158 1/2; Hicks at 154 1/2; Overby at 155; Yost at 155 1/2; Abrams at 155; Raynor at 155 3/4; Hicklin at 155 1/2.

That's a dozen fights over the 154 lb JMW limit

What cannot be disputed is that Lil g made his name fighting guys who very recently had been fighting regularly at a lower weightclass.

        That's the point.

With all the guys available in HIS OWN weightclass, he and his management regularly reach down and fight guys campaigning at LOWER ONES.

THEY JUST DID IT AGAIN WITH BROOK.

THEY WANT TO DO IT STILL WITH CANELO.

And now you have the Charlos, maybe.

        Try statistic-ing that one away.
Don't give false statistics to try to support your argument. You said guys were making their debut at MW, when half the guys you mentioned had a dozen fights at MW. That's not "settling into a main weight class". Don't say a guy is making a debut when he's been there 12 or 13 times before. That's my point. And I still don't see how a guy settles into a lower weight class. I guess he just starves himself more.

You mention that he could fight guys his own weight. Who? Jacobs? Saunders? Eubank? Lineal 160 champ Canelo? Toreano Johnson? Who? The only real guy at 160 with the balls to get in the ring was David Lemieux. And you guys like to bash him for "early fights" from years before (yet when I bring up early fights from years before it's wrong). Top guys at MW don't want that work. That's the point.

Lastly, it wasn't Golovkin talking about Charlo, it was the other way around

The vast majority of those fights a lot closer to 154 than 160. Someone looking at those fights- how they were made and when in his career they happened- would probably be more comfortable calling Rosado a super welter and not a middleweight despite where they fall technically. Boxing regularly schedules fights in a weight class at weights slightly above the limit.

You are actually proving my point.

So now we're moving the goalposts. There's no longer a static limit to weight classes, but a "close to" limit. Are you one of those guys who say Canelo "never fought at the full 160", despite only having fought at 154 once in the last 3 years?

I am not the only one saying it. Check the broadcast of Golovkin vs Rosado. They made the point of characterizing Gabriel as the one moving up. Same thing with Ishida.

He has a habit of looking south when there are guys in his own division and above he can fight.

And, it isn't about guys in his own division not wanting "that work" as much as it is Lil g and Loeffler negotiating in such a manner that "no" is almost a foregone conclusion.

Look at how fast they were signing to fight someone else prior to this year. Lil g would fight, afterwards in the ring they'd mention some big name (one you know it would take months to negotiate), then 2 weeks later they'd announce a fight with Curtis Stevens or willie Monroe.

Look at how they've been trying to nickel and dime Jacobs, THE BEST FIGHT THAT CAN BE MADE IN DIVISION RIGHT NOW. How does a fight everyone agrees should happen get to purse bid if you are an A-side that has assured us all you will do everything you can to make the big fight?

No, we have to stop acting like Lil g is not part of this.

So all the guys at 154 are bigger than Golovkin yet he's the one that has never fought below 160 in his pro career?

Next thing someone will be telling me Callum Smith is bigger than Kovalev and Beterbiev

Just shows you how much his fanboys are willing to ignore stuff that has been going on in boxing for literally a century if it bolsters some pseudo argument they can make for their idol. Either that or they just don't know, which makes them fans of the guy, not the sport.
