I'll believe he'll chase the GGG fight when I see it. But it's definitely becoming more possible now that GGG is about to turn 35. He is definitely slowing down.

How cool would it be if Jacobs pulled out of negotiations, and Haymon got Jermall to step in for him with the same terms the way Brook stood in for Eubank? The Jacobs fight is great but Jermall has never been chin checked, and he seems similarly athletic and powerful as Jacobs, so I think the Jermall fight would also be interesting. But do I think he wants to fight GGG? Hell no. He took forever just to agree to fight JRoc, which, this diva doesn't understand, is the whole reason people doubted him! He acted like he didn't want the fight from day one. Just because the mandatory got enforced and he didn't want to look like a ducker so he eventually took it when he saw that JRoc wouldn't step aside doesn't mean Charlo wanted the fight from the beginning the way JRoc did.

I still give JRoc the full credit for not taking step aside money, and for pushing hard for this fight and calling Jermall out. That's the only reason this fight happened in my opinion. So for Jermall to be angry that people doubted him is crazy because I think whether he admits it or not, I won't say he doubted himself, but HE is definitely the one who seemed to have doubt at least about whether he wanted to take that risk when he sees other Haymon fighters getting the gravy train for years without taking any risks. Fans can sense which fighter really wants the fight, and which fighter feels like they could do without giving the fans the fight they want to see. Jermall fell into the latter category this time so as usual, the fans had every right to doubt him in that regard, and he shouldn't blame the fans for that, he should try to understand why the fans felt that way, and look in the mirror.

But if he was reticent about the risk of fighting JRoc, I highly doubt he wants GGG.

I can't really speak on the step-aside money Charlo was offering to avoid fighting JRock, but Charlo did have eye surgery to correct his vision, which I believe delayed the fight. I don't know, man. He beat Trout and followed that up with a JRock KO. The fact that he's getting flak anyway justifies his feelings about the lack of respect he's receiving. I mean... very rarely do we look at the winner and say "Yeah, but you were ducking though." It doesn't really matter to me, but that's kind of odd...

Anyway, I would dig a GGG fight for Charlo. He has the size and he pretty much has nothing to lose. He's not expected to win and if he has a good showing, he could expand his fan base. Khan and Brook both managed to get more respect for being willing to get KO'd for a payday (I didn't care for either fight). Charlo would put up a better fight against GGG than Brook and could make it interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing it.
