How can people say Collazo was robbed? I was there and it was hard to call, nobody was quite sure who had won. Admittedly the result could easily have gone either way, but it certainly wasn’t clear cut enough to suggest that someone was 'robbed'.

I had it 114-113 to Hatton. Great comeback by Collazo but look at the facts.

      1. Lots of Collazos shots were blocked, dont believe me, have another look at the fight!

      2. When Hatton goes to war he normally gets badly cut. He had a bloodless face at the end meaning there was not much damage to the facial area apart from bruising.

      3. Collazo was on the back foot but fighting great. Unfortunately some judges do not see the aggression factor in this and dont pick up the score.

      4. Collazo should have pressed the 12th and used his strength to push Hatton of when he tried to hold. He may have been able to push for a KO or at least have such a superior round as to take it 10-8.

      5. Hatton is not good against south paws hence why he has avoided Witter all these years. He basically cannot get the shots off due to the angles created by the lefty stance.

Dont get me wrong I liked Collazo he fought a brave fight and I think he will come again. But you have to realise this was a baptism into division for Hatton and you can bet your bottom dollar that Collazo trained his hardest for this fight. Put this together with the factor that beating Hatton would put him on the road and you have the following which made this difficult for Hatton:

      A. South Paw with speed.
      B. Raw determination.
      C. Potential money spinner.

Put those 3 together and it made a very hard night for Hatton and a very unwelcome to 147!

I bet for Collazo on this fight. I knew it's going to be a very hard fought battle. First this is Hatton's first fight at the division. Second Collazo was bigger. And third Collazo is a lefty. And it turned out as I expected it's just that Collazo came short of pulling that upset.

Stop whinning people. Irregardless how you saw or scored it, it's official and a unanimous decission so there's no way anybody can contest that. That's no robbery.

          HATTON won it, period.

Hatton did win it fairly, just not in dramatic fashion as all us hatton fans had hoped. Collazo trained a full 6 weeks for this fight, u can bet ur ass on that. Hatton, well, he didnt train the full six weeks. He looked around Collazo when he should have been looking through him. Collazo knew this fight meant his life, thats why he was bitchin in the interview.

However, if Collazo boxed in orthadox style, the i see hatton doing much better, and winning by KO. if u watch the fight again ull see that every time Hatton caught collazo facing straight toward him (which wasnt often) Hatton was able to land his great left hook and then get Collazo on the ropes. Any orthadox fighter would have gone down here. ANY. but The southpaw style and Collazo excellenct defense prevented anything from happening.

This is why i still think that Hatton can win against the bigger fighters. Every one of his losses in the amautures were against Southpaws i believe. or at least most. HE struggles against them, i think he picked the wrong fighter.

your right about Hattons losses against southpaws. But Collazos trainer stated he was in training for this fight for 4 months!!

i was there, and i'm a hatton fan, but collazo outclassed him from round 2 to round 12. that call was bull****. it was funny because i was sitting next to all the fans from england and at first they were all singing there hatton songs, and then they all started to shut up cuz he was getting his ass kicked. awful call.

and this is why people are straying away from boxing, because of robberies like this.

I had Hatton winning by one point, courtsey of the knockdown. I may have been a bit generous towards Collazo for two of thos rounds though.
