I was (am) a fan of Froch, but wish he would either shut up or put up.

      It's this simple-

Froch fought the best his division had to offer, back to back, and only Ward did he not beat. Kessler he lost a close fight and won a close rematch.

It's easy now to look back and laugh about 'his best win is Lucian Bute!!', but at the time, Bute was undefeated and considered a very good fighter. In fact the Super 6 tournament was originally planned as a tourney to decide who would fight Bute, IIRC. Everyone thought Bute was coming to 'expose' Froch. Froch absolutely battered him.

This happened time and again with Froch. He took fights where he was the underdog-people wrote him off as slow, clumsy, easy to hit. He took dangerous fights and won, sometimes in devastating fashion.

In comparison, has GGG ever had a fight where he's not been the absolute nailed-on favorite? Has he ever taken a fight like the Bute or the Taylor fight for Froch, whereby he was a big underdog? No, he hasn't. He has built a legacy by knocking out people he was expected to knock out.

He has very average names on his resume (except the WW Brook) but he hasn't once stepped up and taken a real test like Carl Froch did. You can fool yourselves into thinking otherwise though.

Right now, GGG is trying to coax a retired fighter who hasn't fought since May 2014 back into the ring. That says it all for me.

It's annoying that I have to put up a post like this, but it seems most GGG fans only have about 2 years worth of boxing knowledge at best.

Would Froch beat GGG if they fought now? I doubt it. He seemed like he was starting to slip a bit in the Groves fights, with the inactivity as well, and his age, GGG would have to be the favorite. Which is exactly why he's calling him out- another fight where he's expected to win.

Wind the clock back to a 2012-era Froch and GGG would get flattened IMO.

        Froch has literally beaten nobody

        GGG has literally fought nobody

One has the potential to do it, the other couldnt

IMO, GGG would put Froch away easily but we will never see it so .....

Brook is a very good win for GGG as itvwas in backyard.

But I think frich saiud some nasty things about JC when trying to get a fight with him and frichs resume was poor. Its about trying to get better resume whiuch frich was trying to do and GGG is trying to do noiw

              This.

He beat Kessler twice, Pascal, Dirrell, Abraham, Groves twice, and Taylor.

At least Frcoh stepped in the ring with Andre Ward.... And NOT at 164lbs. Also I don't recall Froch EVER telling someone get the F-out of here with that shty $10,000,000 offer. GGG is turning down that much $$$$$$ to fight a guy who started as a pro at 139 lbs.

With these latest tweets and sound bites Froch has achieved something he never could as an active fighter - he has entered the P4P top 5 .... in the category of 'Most annoying Retired Fighter'

You become an overwhelming favourite based on past performances and who you are fighting.

Does anybody talk about Kessler and Bute in awed tones? They were good but not great at the end of the day.

Ask yourself why Golovkin is an absolute favourite to beat fighters like Murray, and no doubt Jacobs if it ever gets made. Isn't it because he has absolutely dominated similar level fighters in the past?

Tell me all the fights where Golovkin would be a huge underdog - they only exist at LHW. That says something. At SMW he would probably be evens or slight underdog against Jack/DeGale and Ramirez. Probably evens with Groves.

I don't see Team Golovkin trying to coax Froch to fight. It's more a case of put up or shut up.

I think this is where the problem lies, if you going to take a shot at someone try and cover yourself first. This was like wilder criticising Joshua level of opposition (D-Level), it's like you would disagree but the problem is the irony of those fighters saying dumb stuffs like that. Froch fought almost everyone from Taylor to Pascal to Kessler to ward to Bute to Groves, so if you going to take a shot at Froch make sure your resume is stacked.

A guy 2 divisions smaller is a good win? So if Froch beat up Jermall Charlo that's a good win?
