What did we learn about Hatton at Welterweight?

First, cong**** to Hatton on eeking out a narrow victory.

That said, I don't see much success for Hatton at this weight. Collazo is a decent fighter, but he's far from elite, and there are a lot of good names at Welterweight.
Collazo's minimal power still bothered Hatton. People like Margarito, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Cotto, etc. have far more power and, for the most part, are more skilled.

Also, I think a more experienced ref might have taken a point or so for the holding and hitting and hitting on the break.

we learned that Hatton now looks like an amphetamine version John Ruiz. All he did was throw a shot and hold for most of the fight, not as busy as he used to be, obvious loss of power because Collazo never wilted.

we learnt that HBO are ball suckers.......bias as ****, but what did you expect?!...they are too smart also for getting an unknown ref to do this fight.....also, they get unknow mass judges so they can say after "hey the refs were fair, they were even from mass"...

he can still take a punch, he can still go the distance, and he can still get away with some questionable tactics.

this was HAttons first fite in the states, his first fight at "full" welterweight, and a fight against a CHAMPION. considering those factors i think the kid did alright. he's smart and improving. as time goes on he'll only get better in this division and more caple of taking out those fighters u talk of.....

I don't think it was an obvious loss of power. Hatton was never a power puncher. His KO percentage was built largely on soft/over-the-hill opposition and accumulation of punishment. He was in against a larger, stronger opponent than he was used to, so he couldn't hurt him.

Cotto and Mayweather would KO Hatton within 8 rounds.

Now I know why Hatton's corner dosen't want to fight Cotto at 147, he would be too strong for Hatton.
