completely disagree. i have yet to hear or see marvin give out any meaningful instructions to his fighter. he's way too quiet. he's more of a helper. all he says to his fighter is "good job", "nice", "keep it up" lol. what type of instructions is that.

In the corner I think everyone sucks lol I think in camp though he is great.

Yeah he needs to stop here and take the Vargas win and go out on it. I don't see him beating Crawford at this point. If he woulda blew out Vargas then maybe, but he didn't. That Vargas fight wasn't the one sided fight that some of the boxing media made it after the fight. Manny won but Vargas made him work every second for it...and Crawford is on another level than Vargas.

And this Canelo talk from Roach is comical. It really is.

that's the thing. pac usually shine when his opponent push him. this is the only way for manny to know if he's done or not. obviously he wants to continue fighting, so i rather see him fight a live contender than taking on lesser name. put pac in with a live dog, and watch him swim or drown. this is the only way he'll know if its time to hang it up.

If they can't get Floyd again then Roach wants Canelo.

Pac is still fighting at a high level, but he's obviously not what he used to be. I'd pick Canelo or Crawford to beat 2017 Manny Pacquiao.

To Manny's credit I'd still pick him over the vast majority of the top guys around 140-147. Just not Crawford.

We're starting to get near 10 years removed from his peak now with a lot of hard battles in between.

you think roach cares more about pay days than pacquiao's health? dont you think roach has made enough cash training pacquiao and other fighters because of the fame he got from pacquiao? its not like h has a buncha kids to support....i dont think he has any kids...

You really think Roach is just thinking about the money? I doubt it. Like I said before Roach appears to live pretty modestly anyway, and he already has more money than he knows what to do with from all the huge fights he has been involved with. And I believe the dude when he says that he views Manny as a son. You don't go to battle with someone that many times and not have a deep bond. Arum though, different story. Arum's a businessman who would sale his own grandchildren for the right price.

I honestly believe that Roach thinks the Canelo fight is winnable. He envisions Manny just moving all night long and outpointing Canelo en route to a decision.

Personally though I think that's pretty delusional -- at some point Canelo would get to him and unleash. Guys like Cotto & Margarito were able to get him cornered on the ropes...what happens when a squarely in his prime Canelo gets that opportunity? And against a 38 year old Manny Pacquiao who was knocked out in horrifically brutal fashion in recent memory?

Good points, I believe it to be about money here. To me both fights I see Pacquiao as the underdog. What it comes down to is which is most profitable? Seeing if Pacquiao is blown out by either guy it should be and probably will be his final fight. Nobody makes Roach the money Pacquiao does. Just my view on things.

Well Roach has become pretty delusional over the last few years, predicting KOs every damn fight lol. So I dont doubt that he believes Pacquiao has a shot a beating Canelo but as you said if Margarito can trap him then certainly Canelo can do the same and actually finish the job.

My point, is he says the same thing about every fight, and his fans will eat it up. Canelo would kill him.
