This just isn't true. Look at the numbers over the last 10 years. Virtually every UFC PPV event, except for like 1 per year, has outsold both the Kovalev-Ward and the Golovkin-Lemieux fights. McGregor is the one generating 1M buys, but almost all the events outsell these two fights.

I know they sell more than Golovkin and Ward, but Canelo out sells regular UFC fighters, only McGregor out sells Canelo and Mayweather out sells everybody

The fact that you have to use Mayweather, a guy who is retired and hasn't fought in well over a year, to make your point speaks volumes. Both Mayweather and Canelo, in their last fights, sold roughly 350K units or so. In 2015 and 2016 to date, the UFC has had 17 events sell 300K units or better. How many boxing events have fared so well? Again, the numbers reflect the sad state of boxing in America. The paying fans are buying Octagon fights, not squared circle fights.

          He's just blind.

People is not that ****** anymore. They don't want a sport where the biggest stars are guys that hug 100+ times per fight or guys that avoid the best fighter in their division.

That killed boxing. And the 75-99 dollars that some PPV costed did no favour either. 50 dollars should be the limit.

They destroyed boxing. People like him, Mayweather/Ward/Canelo fans, destroyed the sport.

            That's not true at..

            Bisping-Henderson 2 did 500k..

The lowest ppv all year for UFC does like 300k..

UFC will have 2 different million+ buys events that didn't feature Conor this year. And nearly all broke 500k or higher.. and that doesn't include bar sales which adds much more $$$

              Canelo doesn't outsell anyone..

300k for Liam, that's basically the worst UFC numbers of the year..

600k for khan, but that is nowhere near the 700-850 k guys like jones, Aldo, Edgar, Cormier, etc all bring..

Canelo vs cotto barely got to those numbers

You're exactly right. People don't want to see guys just playing tag, running and clinching, under the guise of"being defensive". Especially Americans. We want action. That's why soccer has very little appeal in this country. Some games only have one or two goals scored. That's why football rules have changed to benefit the offense and put more points on the board. That's why basketball is so popular, points are scored like every 20 seconds or so. People want action, and boxing really isn't delivering that.

Sorry man, you're wrong. The UFC stack cards and force the best fights, Tate v Nunes at 200 did over a million buys because they stack their cards and neither Rousey or Mcgregor were on the card. The UFC is doing promotion right.

Johnson v Cormier did 375k, Miocic v Overeem did just shy of 500k, Jones v Cormier pulled 800k, Silva v Diaz pulled 650k all in the last two years. UFCs worst performing PPV (198) in the last two years still did 217k and no one knows Werdum or Miocic really. People will buy their PPVs because they know that they will get 5 competitive fights between guys that should be in the ring with each other even if the main event stinks they've still got their moneys worth. Boxings model of overpaying fighters is unsustainable and has to come to an end soon. They also stick great, great fights for free on fox and it's just promoting their brand, their fox deal is up for renewal and is expected to quadruple.
