I Was Shocked With The PPV Numbers

    I was shocked with Ward-Kovalev and Golovkin-Lemiuex
I was expecting Ward-Kovalev to do 250K-400K and Golovkin-Lemiuex to do 200K-350K. I was shocked when two pound for pound fighters pulled 165K and the two hardest punchers at middleweight to pull 150K.

It's indicative of the state of boxing, at least in America. Boxing's popularity is being eclipsed by that of the UFC. Add to that, the number of fans streaming fights and watching online and we end up with poor numbers that we're seeing

The chickens are coming home to roost for promoters who encouraged all the ducking and excessive fighter protection we've had over the last 5 or so years.

I was dissapointed but not shocked. I predicted 200-250k and thought people who were thinking around 400k were delusional and blinded by fandom of how great of a fight it was. However it was one of the times I was really hoping I was wrong and just a pessimist.

UFC only has one guy though who can pull in good numbers, well at the same time we only got one guy in America who can put in good numbers, they're both red haired
