Other than Jermall Charlo, who's trained by the same man as him, Erislandy Lara spent much of 2016 calling out the best 154-pound boxers in the world and middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin.

Ignoring the fact that it is a **** fight with no relevance. Even the stylistic matchup promise to be a really, really boring fight.

If you dont pressure lara, he is happy to cruise to a boring 12 round decision. Yuri Foreman is a move and jab kind of boxer, who wont be able to outbox lara at all. Hopefully his knees give in, so it will end before 12.

Give the paying customer a product that they want to see and they'll be a demand to see you fight. With that demand comes more money.

If you're idea of putting on a show is running around the ring refusing to engage, then good luck in this business buddy.

Guys like Lara and Rigo that don't speak English but can outbox the top draws rarely get get top fights unless they have a strong nationalistic fanbase or craft an image that attracts casual fans like Floyd.

He calls out the perceived baddest man (GGG) in boxing and he gets ignored.

The fact of the matter is, he is very good and considered HIGH risk , low reward. So nobody is going to be in a hurry looking his way.

If he was perceived as a weak belt holder, fighters would have been drooling at the prospect of taking it away from him. They are not and its not because he is a "runner".

i've heard how jrock is supposed to be so old school and throwback
..i really dont blame lara for this stuff i've seen it too many times high risk low reward...but he's actually high reward..if u can beat him your stock goes up...bc ppl rather get reward for ko'ing bums..and letting their fan boys find a way to credit it

If Lara was serious about chasing Golovkin, he should just move and campaign at 160. Start beating ranked fighters and earn a mandatory spot. All this talk won't get you the fight (payday).

Lara fought on PPV against the biggest name in the sport of boxing and played it safe, let it go into the hands of the judges and didn't get it done.

Did I think he won? Yes. Am I upset with the decision? No. I'm not like Kovalev fans. I can understand that close fights can be decided by disagreement on a round or two. Canelo did what he had to do and got the W.

Lara has no one to blame but himself. He was given every young fighter's dream fight and was content with playing a game of "one for you, two for me". He left Las Vegas with an L on his record and bored casual fans who have no desire to see him perform ever again.

Lesson learned. Don't take any single round for granted.

I thought he was going to be a major star after his fight with Paul Williams. He should have been more aggressive in the Canelo fights, and he gave some rounds by running.
