    Will Waters Redeem Himself?

He didn't take career changing punishment to my knowledge.

Few are as technically brilliant as Lomachenko.

Walters still has it in him to win some major fights.

Will Walters overcompensate and bounce back hard Duran style?

If he can quit without even being hurt, imagine when the going gets real tough.

His quit job was much worse than Victor Ortiz. At least ortiz out up a fight against maidana before quitting. Walters flat out quit before the fight even started.

No. Boxing has no shortage of fighters. What it needs are guys who will give gutsy fights against the best. He stalled the Loma fight trying to get more money (which failed) and then quit. I don't think there's room for a guy like him and I think his opportunities will be fewer and further between.

        Ain't that what Duran did?

And Ortiz despite being a clown was able to summon massive heart against Berto. His problem was being unable to maintain that winning mindset.

From a talent standpoint he's obviously more than capable, but one has to wonder what kind of damage this fight did to him mentally. I mean damn, to be mind f**ked to a point to where you willingly say "nah I'm outta here" after just 6 rounds...

But I will say this though: I do believe that Walters was probably getting stopped the next round. Loma had him completely and utterly figured out by that point and was starting to land power shots at will -- and to boot he was literally toying with him. At the end of the round you can clearly see that Walters was literally hanging on by a thread.

He was done and he knew it.

The only way he can get back his rep is to fight Loma again and take the inevitable KO like a man. There's no other fight that can erase that quit job.

He has to redeem himself for himself, so who know what that will mean to him

                This.

He's good enough to make a comeback because he won't meet many opponents as difficult as Lomachenko. How badly the criticism affects him will be a significant factor. Maybe he will brush it off, maybe it will kill his appetite for the sport. He is also going to face a much harsher negotiating environment. Anyone he deals with now has leverage over him with the 'quitting' label.
