Remember Haymon & Schaefer supposedly tried to steal GBP from Oscar?

They offered to buy GBP for a $100 million. For some perspective. The Florida Panthers were bought in 2013 for $160mil. They're a part of a league. They own an arena. They get a licensing fee from a major broadcast network as well as a local network. They had revenue of $83 mil in 2013-14. Golden Boy had nothing close to that!!! Oscar lies are coming to the forefront more and more. I remember Schaefer saying that one day the truth will be known. It's slowly coming out

It appears that Haymon Holdings may have been known as KO Holdings in the past when it made a “hundred million dollar purchase” attempt of Golden Boy, according to deposition questioning of Haymon. It seems the deal fell apart due to the inability of the parties to agree on certain covenants, which may have included a non-compete clause for Oscar De La Hoya.

It's a really good article you should read the whole thing. Such as Eric Gomez saying Golden Boy releases a fighter after one fight for the sake of the fighters health

When Haymon’s attorneys ask Golden Boy President Eric Gomez why there’s a contractual provision allowing it to terminate a boxer’s contract if they lose a single match, his answer is innocent and honorable, “Well, more than anything, it’s for the health of the fighter.”

Oscar could have retired and lived well if he took that 100 mil...

But it's his company so he must have felt too attached to sell.

This is no secret they wanted to buy him out because remember it was around the time he was checking into rehab yet again and yes that was BAD FOR BUSINESS so yes that is what Partners do they buy other Partners OUT if they're not holding up their end! But it was Oscar's name so can't blame him for refuse either!

But that provision of terminating contracts if a fighter loses a single match? WTF? That is TERRIBLE on GBP Part WTF is that?

Also them having to APPROVE who fighters pick as Representation as far as Managers or whoever? How is that not against the Ali Act?

Help me if I'm wrong... Is the logic of this thread it's alright to try and steal a company from under someone as long as you made an offer firsthand? What Schafer and haymon tried to do while Oscar was in rehab was unethical to say the least.

            they tired> they did lmfao.

            Oscar dumbass got got!

They wanted his promotional company cause they would be 2 years ahead of schedule than what they are right now. GBP was the infrastructure they needed, now they had to build it up from scratch on their own.

Offering fair to above market value is not the same as stealing. Oscar had three options, shut up and enjoy the ride, sell out and get out of boxing, or fight keep his company kind of screwing over those that helped to run and build his company while he was off doing whatever.

Oscar ****ed Haymon and Schaeffer just as much as they did him~ and they only did it after Oscar made his moves.

From a business standpoint as well as human beings. Both are complete pieces of ****.

He never had this option. He was going down this road, but someone tipped him off that they were changing all his fighters to fight by fight contracts getting ready for a mass exodus. There's a reason haymon paid an 8 figure settlement, because an arbitrator felt like this was a pretty big deal.

He paid to release his fighters from Golden Boy. Remember how Schaefer supposedly wasn't signing fighters? Well if he wasn't signing fighters why did Haymon have to pay to get them out of their CONTRACTS?
