With careful matchmaking, this guy lucked into a championship. He and his team have to know that he is not a top tier fighter. I seriously doubt that he will fight Golovkin. He will continue to fight bums or fight Canelo next year to cash in.

A GGG fight would give him the one payday he needs to be able to hang the gloves up and be done with it, which sounds more what he's after. Why I think the fight happens.
Akavov should be an easy touch, but there is always the risk one of these bums does a Rocky on him and ends the potential of that one big payday. I don't think he'll risk it.
He might gamble against Eubank in a double-or-nothing type way, as he knows he can win that one, but its one he also knows he can easily lose. We'll see.

Very interesting Saunders is writing off Canelo, I guess those talks didn't go anywhere. That means ggg, and to a lesser extent Eubank jr., Are his only real money fights.
Ggg v. Jacobs followed by Saunders, or Saunders in March seem far more likely now.

If he felt Saunders could hurt him, he would box more like he did with Lemieux.
If he felt Saunders didn't have anything he couldn't walk through, then Saunders would just get walked down and taken out earlier.
When did Akavov become 'hard case Akavov'. He's beaten up a lot of club level fighters, but its more 'untested and unknown Akavov'.
As for wins against Lee and Eubank being better than Golovkin's wins. Lets switch that around for a minute. Imagine GGG blew both Lee and Eubank out in 3 rounds, then Saunders has narrow wins over Wade and Brook. Lee and Eubank wouldn't be looking so good any more, while Saunders could say Brook and Wade were far tougher based on the fight they put up. Everyone's rated till GGG beats the crap out of them, then they suddenly aren't so good any more.
Saunders is looking for that payday, and it sounds like Team Canelo have made it clear they aren't interested for whatever reason. So now he's raising the volume on his only other possible payday, GGG.
I think its doable as GGG will fight him in the UK. GGG has a name there after Brook, and Saunders being hometown, there is enough in place to sell out a venue and match or exceed the 600k buys the Brook fight got. So should be enough for GGG and Saunders. I think this fight happens.
wtf ?
imagine if BJS gave Canelo a close fight, but then Canelo sparked Golovkin cold
how is my wild imagination any less/more accurate than yours?

We're talking probabilities dude.
BJS giving Canelo a close fight. Not probable.
I was only using imagination to dismantle the idea that BJS's recent record is better than GGGs. Could have been far different if the oppinents were switched.
What do YOU think GGG would have done to Lee and Eubank.
How do YOU think Wade and Brook would have done against BJS ?
Canelo sparking BJS. Probable.
Canelo sparking Golovkin. Not probable.
Golovkin sparking Canelo. more likely, also likely a good fight.
GGG sparking Lee. Probable
GGG sparking Eubank. Probable
Its not imaginations its probabilities. I can imagine all I like that BJS sparks Canelo and GGG back-to-back, it probably won't happen.
What do YOU think is the most probable outcome ?Last edited by angkag; 12-01-2016, 07:26 PM.

aight then !
Look it up on boxrec yourself and question The Ring why, at the time GGG beat them, they were rated top 10.
I actually don't know which were rated top 10 at the time GGG fought them, but think it was Geale, Macklin, Murray, Lemiuex, and one or two others could have been there too.
If the issue is that they SHOULDN'T have been rated top 10, then thats an issue with you and The Ring.
edit. and to expand, each of them was KTFOed. BJS has 2 current top 10 in his resume, one by MD, one by SD. Spot the difference ? And if those two were KTFOed by GGG would they be in the top 10 right now ?Last edited by angkag; 12-01-2016, 07:40 PM.
