So how did they come to the determination that Ward don't want the rematch?

somebody should ask JDJ why wasn't he even talkin in the corner, giving no instructions . .am i the only one who noticed. after round 1 kovalev motions to him with his glove to shut up and let the russian guy behind the ropes speak..and after round 3 JDJ said absolutely nothing to kovalev. .

as far as the referee.. its funny because the same people that trashed kenny bayless for trying to keep the fight clean between floyd and maidana are now bashing byrd because he allowed the fighters to decide the match themselves. .what is it that you guys want referees to do? bayless got hate because breaking it up takes away any chance maidana has of winning and byrd gets hate because not breaking it up puts kovalev at a disadvantage with the superior inside fighter. .i smell the bias, i smell it

        can't wait for rematch

That's what I don't get. They keep saying Ward will win more convincingly next time. I like Ward but I don't see him going the full 12 in a rematch. Kov is more skilled than people give him credit for. They act like only Ward has the capacity to make adjustments.

I see nothing in this article that indicates why Jackson feels that Ward won't honor the rematch clause. Both think they have the other figured out. Cool... But articles like this just give Ward haters sonething else to say to make it seem like he's a bum. I have seen nothing from Ward to indicate the rematch isn't happening. If someone has evidence of it (contract disputes, Ward wanting another tune-up, injury, etc.), please let us know. Otherwise, kill the bickering and let's see what's what around April of next year.

Not the only one – I also wondered why Jackson stayed silent almost the whole time, and the interaction between them looked very tense. For a moment I thought we were seeing a Hatton/Billy Graham/Mayweather Sr. type of breakdown right there, but nothing has since been mentioned of a rift between Kovalev and Jackson. Definitely more urgency needed in the rematch.

Ward won the first fight, and will win the rematch more clearly.

Its a vague interview or only the excerpts from it.. JDJ said Ward doesn't want the rematch & doesn't bother telling why..
Ward has said he is open for a rematch, Kovalev has a rematch clause, the fans on both sides want the rematch - so I don't understand where the problem would be tbh..

"He'll never move up to light heavyweight because of Kovalev."

"Fine, he moved up, but he'll never fight Kovalev."

"I bet he has no intention of honoring that deal to fight Kovalev after his tuneups."

"I bet he'll find a way out of the fight before November."

Now it's "I bet he won't fight the rematch."

Yeah, I know this game, and it gets more annoying each time. No one can ever just admit they were wrong.
