Ward ducked Bute and was lucky Froch cleared him out, he then ducked a Froch rematch and spent 4 years in the wilderness not fighting a single top super middle or light heavy. Now that he has luckily gotten his hands on a world belt a t175, he wants to keep it with minimum fuss.

I guarantee you, even making the Kovalev rematch will become every difficult, by that time 18 months will have passed and who knows where Stevenson will be in that time.
