In 2013, WBC light-heavyweight champ Adonis Stevenson wanted a piece of undefeated American Andre Ward, but the feeling wasn’t mutual. Ward, considered the No. 2 pound-for-pound pugilist in the world behind Floyd Mayweather, says Stevenson (21-1-0, 18 KOs) didn’t have the track record to warrant a title fight.
The WBA super middleweight champion (26-0, 14 KOs) says Stevenson won’t get a shot until he has “won some big fights.”
Stevenson: “Ward definitely wants to delay this to avoid facing me,” said the champ. Ward is crazy to say I’m not ready.”

Now it's 2016, Ward has the IBF, WBA and WBO; missing the lineal belt in his collection. Only one bout away to become Undisputed Champion, which would move him automatically to the number 1 spot of the pound for pound list. But again Ward says, (Why now?).
In professional boxing, the undisputed champion of a weight class is a boxer who is recognized as the world champion at that class by each boxing organization. Some sources consider the WBO title necessary for an undisputed champion. Others continue to consider it sufficient to hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles. Adonis Stevenson always aimed the Undisputed title, so that means he's got 2 belts out there that he wants. IBF and WBA, those are the titles he wants.
Why is it that it's not mutual for Andre Ward?
