If they fight in September (which I doubt), GGG will be 35 already.

Maybe Canelo is tired of fans talking smack to him about GGG and is ready to make it happen (especially knowing GGG is old and only going downhill from here). God only knows how huge Canelita will be getting when he steps in the ring with Golovkin at 160. I'm actually starting to give Canelo a better chance than before despite his obvious flaws. Plus, it's obvious GGG has slowed down some. Compare his recent fights with perhaps, his fight against Macklin and you can spot a difference.

Who knows? GGG is already 34 yo. Canelo still hasn't fought a legit MW without a catchweight.

What if one or both of them loses before next Sept?
Not as huge as you think. Huge to hardcore fans yes but to Vegas high rollers or Texas cow humpers...it would just be another Canelo fight. If one or the other loses thats just Boxing. These guys will want huge money to fight each other. They need a double header in Vegas or Texas first to cultivate the ppv and tickets sales which will be very expensive

I might be even bigger by this time next year ... but then again, something could go wrong and it ends up being devalued.

In my own mind, I'm sure the reason why Oscar is delaying it is because he doesn't think Canelo can win unless GGG starts going downhill, and that's not good for the sport or the fans.

And you are just talking about the US interest there. GGG has a lot of fans worldwide.

Good god that was a beatdown Lara gave Canelo!!!! Do u even score body blows??? Or do u ignore them and think they're not sht like casual fans do???
yep, nacho was high when he said cotto won, Chavez Sr was high also when he said the same, as well as Barrera, as well as Fernando vargas. Marquez and mikey Garcia were probably hight too because they both scored it a draw. So was TV Azteca who also scored it for cotto. Must he some good Mexican weed. Also, if you're so big on counting scoring blows, be advised that Lara out landed Canelo when they fought. Actually, even trout significantly out landed Canelo. But let me guess, casuals only look at the knockdown and don't count jabs as scoring blows.

True and dont get me wrong Id love to see the fight and Canelo needs to do it. I just understand the logistics on this one. They should both have fought a double header together in November to set up the Cinco De Mayo weekend fight. They'll try to extend it to November though. Oscar himself never avoided any fighters...he fought them all in their prime and went up several weight classes so I think people overdo it with the whole Oscar is protecting him thing. Oscar was a Super Featherweight Champion who fought Hopkins, a middleweight legend and recent Light Heavyweight Champion. Oscar fought (and beat) Trinidad (My all time favorite fighter) and Quartey when they were all undefeated champions. Oscar gets a real bad rap but his career is legendary in his wins AND his losses.

Fraudverez will continue fighting smaller guys and less talented guys & if he still asked for the catchweight vs GGG the fight will happen in '17...

If it doesn't happen early next year then it will mildew like the Mayweather/Pac fight for a long time.

The Canelo I know will get tired of Oscar's BS and demand GGG the same way he demanded Lara.

That's the hope, but I'm very skeptical because I thought that would happen this year.
