McGregor just need to stop this circus act. Mayweather will never fight him in a million years. This is just great publicity and hype for the Mayweather brand that's all. It helps keep his name out there in order to seem like he's still relevant.Comment

Hold up hold up hold up. He has to pay a 75k fine AND produce a video that is also worth 75k? What kind of bull**** is that?Comment

You have to be delusional to think he isn't. Show me when the average PPV not headlined by a star reguarly did 500,000 buys. That is not true. UFC has been doing over 500,000 buys even without huge superstars on the card. If a card is not capable of pulling that number they will not put it on pay per view. Those cards get relegated to UFC fight nights. They aren't as ****** as boxing promoters.
You have to be seriously naive to think Conor is pulling 1.5 million buys completely on his own.
When Conor is on the card, the event does over a million. When Conor isn't on the card, the event doesn't (UFC 200 was an exception given the hype of the event and Brock Lesnar's involvement.) Even Rousey only ever had one fight that did over one million. And about the only reason other cards don't get relegated to Fight Night cards is because there's a championship on the line and the company has their own subjective perception of certain divisions meaning more than others.Comment

Conor is currently the BIGGEST ppv draw on the planet. $100 mill would be underpaying him.
Pacquiao did 300k in his last fight
Mayweather did 400k
and Ward-Kovalev 160k
Conor's last 5 PPVs: 1.8m, 1.65m, 1.6m, 1.0m, 800k
No one even comes close to Conor in boxing. Not even Floyd himself.
Conor actually deserves $200mill guaranteed if we're being realistic.Comment

No one has ever done over 2 million buys without the name Mayweather on the card. To say Conor is A BIGGER DRAW IS LAUGHABLE. Conor would be a nobody without the push from the UFC.Conor is currently the BIGGEST ppv draw on the planet. $100 mill would be underpaying him.

The guy is a star and entertaining but lets not act lie the UFC isn't building him up.Comment

Rousey was doing 600-000 to 900,000 buys and once did over a million. GSP sold over a million buys, Brock Lesnar did, and so did Chuck Liddell. You have to be delusional to think he isn't. Show me when the average PPV not headlined by a star reguarly did 500,000 buys.

And I never said you could do over a million buys wihtout a star on the card. I just stated that you don't need McGregor to do over a million because the UFC has had high selling pay per views before anyone even heard of McGregor.
McGregor is a star but he's not the singular reason why those Pay Per Views sold over a million. Without a stacked undercard and without a serious push from the UFC, those numbers would not be that high.Comment

And Mayweather hasn't ever done more than 1.5m buys without a big star. Conor has. 3 times. No one has ever done over 2 million buys without the name Mayweather on the card. To say Conor is A BIGGER DRAW IS LAUGHABLE. Conor would be a nobody without the push from the UFC.

And regardless, times have changed. Mayweather is no longer box office material. May-Pac killed his drawing power(and probably boxing in general). The only way May breaks 1m now is against Mcgregor and that fight might break 5m.Comment

Yeah, those guys were the biggest stars of their respective eras, Rousey being the second biggest star behind Conor in the current one. I'm obviously referring to modern-day UFC when talking about no one touching McGregor's numbers. Rousey is the only one who comes close and as I already pointed out myself, even she was only ever to exceed a million buys on one occasion (although I expect her comeback at 207 to accomplish that as well.)Rousey was doing 600-000 to 900,000 buys and once did over a million. GSP sold over a million buys, Brock Lesnar did, and so did Chuck Liddell.

The original argument was that the stacked undercards have a lot to do with Conor's PPV buys being so high, which I still don't completely buy. At least 98% of guys on any given undercard have never and probably will never headline a PPV of their own.Comment

Nate Diaz actually has a huge following in MMA. Both the Diaz brothers do. also Also is a huge star in MMA. So to say Conor has done 1.5 million buys without a huge star on the card shows your ignorance of the sport. Conor also has had the benefit of having big names in the MMA world on his undercards which boosted his sales significantly. And Mayweather hasn't ever done more than 1.5m buys without a big star. Conor has. 3 times.
