He should have been included. Based on merit.

Well Murray just became the number one in his sport. so yeah, pretty successful.

I'd give it to the gymnast - what was it Max Whitlock?

If you are looking for athletes who did something incredible - he got Golds that Britain haven't got in about a hundred years..

Andy Murray has been there or thereabouts for a while you could honestly give him a lifetime achievement award now. 100% Murray will be the greatest British tennis player ever if you look at it objectively. There is no real pathway in that sport for British kids to be successful. You can't really be good at it without extensive coaching, it's really expensive, you can't really play it in the rain, and you're probably going to go to America for long stretches of your formative years. So that leaves middle class kids who could look at having a go, maybe - tiny pool of talent - almost non-existent as middle class people just don't pursue careers in sports in this country.

I'm not sure I would include Frampton also actually. Also nobody I know would know who Frampton is. I suppose you have to have a healthy ego to be a boxer.

Just annoys me seeing Mcgregor talked about over here and getting all this coverage (I know his talking trash and success in the cage justify it) and being lauded as a two weight champion when Frampton is that, undefeated, exciting and potentially one of the greatest Irish boxers ever.

Just a shame. Even Bernard Dunne got more coverage.
Mcgregor and Bernard Dunne got more attention in ireland because their irish, Frampton is British, you not aware of that?

Where you from? Mcgregor is irish-rep of ireland, Frampton is British, you know the difference? You realise northern ireland and rep of ireland are different countries?

It's an Olympics year. Chris Froome won his third Tour de France this year and isn't on the list.

Its olympics year. GB did great coming second with nearly 30 golds. So of course the list is going to be dominated by olympians. Dunno about it being anti NI. They are next to useless when it comes to winning gold.
