Comments Thread For: Korobov: Golovkin Better Matchmaker Than Fighter; All Propaganda

Matt Korobov believes Gennady Golovkin is a better matchmaker than fighter. The Russian southpaw told BoxingScene.com he is more than ready to fight Golovkin in March if negotiations for a Golovkin-Danny Jacobs fight fall apart. Representatives for Kazakhstan's Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs), the WBA "super" middleweight champion, and Brooklyn's Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs), the WBA world middleweight champion, are still discussing contractual terms for a potential fight sometime in March.

Golovkin has not fought a Russian fighter in 8 years. He knows he's a bum.

Korobov would have no chance whatsoever against Golovkin.

Korobov just went the 8 round distance with Scott Sigmond and Brian Vera, he's talking desperate. He should've knocked off Heiland, Blanco, or Tureano before talking this crap.

Do something with your career before talking crap about others. Korobov's career has been frustrating to watch develop.

He's got as much right to talk as anyone. But, I have no interest in seeing him fight Golovkin. It wouldn't be competitive.

Shots fired, man in the hole.

GGG would obliterate this dude, but he has the right to speak as a boxing fan just like the rest of us. I said 2016 was the year that GGG had to step it up and it still hasn't happened.

There are more and more boxers coming out saying that GGG is fighting smaller guys and questioning is matchmaking. I'm not saying that this is right, but it does make me wonder how a lot of the pro boxers view GGG as a competitor...

GGG should fight a Eastern Euro fighter but Korobov isn't the guy he should fight Sergiy Derevyanchenko and Ievgen Khytrov those are the two I'd much rather see him face too bad Andy Lee got to fight Korobov when they were battling it out for the WBO vacant strap.

Korobov is really pretty good fighter. Russians were expecting great successes from him but he lost against Andy Lee. It was a big surprise for me. Korobov is more talented than GGG's previous opponents like Lemieux, Wade, Stevens, Murray, Geale, Macklin... GGG vs Korobov sounds good!

Golovkin basically wasted a year of his prime. Meanwhile the other too fighters have risen to the occasion. It's a damn shame.
