Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, who handle IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs), says a fight can certainly be worked out with WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs).
But the deal would have to be under Golovkin's terms and not dictated by Ward. Loeffler feels Golovkin has surpassed Ward as a ticket seller and in terms of name recognition - making GGG the A-side of the negotiations...
The Ward fight is there, although it's unlikely Ward will agree to a weight of 164 and a 50-50 split.
“GGG is now clearly the ‘A’ side yet Ward still would want to dictate terms, which makes no sense,” Loeffler said to ESPN. “GGG would fight Ward on a 50-50 basis, the best 160-pounder versus the best 168-pounder [at] 164 [and] a 50-50 split on all proceeds. But it seems like Ward needs more tuneup fights.”

Now that's Sanchez and Loeffler! Is that good enough for you?
On what planet would it have made sense to start the conversation at 168? Then Ward wants 172. I swear it seems as most people here have never negotiated a single deal in their entire lives. They have no concept of how it works......

Golovkin wasn't gonna move out of his weightclass for 2 million.
Also since you are all taking the word of Sanchez like the facts of life.
"That's something that would be a discussion amongst the team. And if we all came to the consensus that it was the right thing to do, at that point, then yes we'd consider budging on the weight."Last edited by SplitSecond; 11-29-2016, 10:07 AM.

Golovkin has already said yes to fighting Ward before, has Chased Froch when he was active and signed to fight Chavez at 168lb's. You're crazy if you think they wouldn't fight Ward at 168 if he actually provided something.

Posters get annoyed when GGG fans tolerate things from him and his team that they don't with other boxers.
