    Are you for real????

UK fans are fans of UK fighters, rarely is a fight not involving at least one UK fighter ever on PPV here. When Canelo vs Golovkin happens it won't even be PPV in the UK.

Brook is the major reason for those numbers not Golovkin.

They just hear about this Irish dude talking smack and is in the media all the time, and so they are now into UFC more than boxing or whatever.

Truth is, these boxing fights aren't selling because these are fights between people with zero media profile. When was the last time Ward was on ESPN or who has ever heard of Kovalev? UFC is very good with building up hype..
Exactly. who is going to excite casual fans more:

the guy that talks a ton of sh-t and yells we didn't come here to take part we came here to take over OR

a guy you can barely understand what he is saying and another guy who is very polite, bland and speaks in a monotone voice?

UFC has the personalities that boxing lacks.

Really isn't out of line with historical numbers.

So how many PPV's did Brook-Gavin sell, since it was all Brook? The fight sold about as well as Groves-Froch in some regards according to Hearn (i'd have to find the video to specify), because of Kell Brook? He's the english name, but lets not act like Golovkin didn't do his part. I'm not american, I don't live in America, I live very close to Britain actually. I'm not saying Brook wasn't needed, but it was his attached name(a known englishman) vs a known name in the sport is what sold the fight.

Maybe Ward and Kovalev aren't popular to the casual fans.

In the US PPV market, Canelo is somewhat of a star.

In the UK PPV market, if Hearn is to be believed, AJ is some what of a star.

                That's it.

Pacquiao's star has faded badly after the Mayweather loss and all the politically motivated bs.

Mayweather's own final ppv was low by the May/Pac string of PPV from around 2007 to 2015.

Boxing in the last decade as failed to create a star because too many of the young guys have refused to fight the best or not fought often enough for people to care.

"It's bidness doe" and "they gettin paid doe" crowd must be proud.

It's out of line with their purses though, and Ward has implied that he wants an even bigger purse for the rematch

I doubt he will ever take another risky fight for less than $5m

Boxing has plenty of guys that could have grown had Haymon not pulled them into obscurity. Thurman had hype, Danny Garcia was showing promise as a draw, and plenty of other guys had alot more viewership which would segway into more attention to the special fighter(s) that beat them. Instead ***boy Haymon has guys basically out of the sport until everyone forgets them and then makes the 'big' fights.
