Are people really surprised that boxing is on the decline in popularity?

Perhaps it's poetic justice or self-inflicted wounds. Now I love boxing but to be honest, I'm glad the ppv numbers and ratings are down. It's showing how sick and tired we are of all the bull****. Hopefully they get the message and maybe, just maybe we will get a major change in this sport.
Not surprised at all but we're picking the wrong type of guys to be that big PPV attraction a PPV attraction is a lot more to it than just winning fans don't care about that.

We need to be brutally honest boxing is the here and now fans want to see action not 12 rounds of running and hugging that Andre Ward displayed against Sergey Kovalev but another problem is we have enablers to these type of people like Ward who encourage making fights boring, stinkers that nobody really cares for these are the people that are holding our sport in the stone ages.

We have glimmers of lights here and there with guys like Golovkin, Spence, Anthony Joshua and the others guy who actually are willing to give the paying fans their moneys worth.

Another problem that relates back to the enablers of boring fights they also enable and defend robberies by saying ****** crap like -
"Well there was only one round in it so it wasn't a robbery it was a close fight"
Those type of dumb fxcks that are trying so hard to sound clever but they really don't see how dumb they look!
If Floyd Vs Berto was scored in favour of Andre Berto 115-114 would these same idiots still be repeating the same old crap, well obviously its only one round and that's fine can't be a robbery judges have decided I'm too ****** to use my own eyes to see what is really happening.

It's some of the fans it really is some of the people on here and you know exactly who I'm talking about they're just cancerous to this sport we need engaging fanbases who won't put up with B.S. the UFC fans are and I'm sad to say much better than ours we have some solid good ones but for every good one we have we have 10 or 20 more MotorCities, Aboutfkntimes's, CaneloMaidana's and you know it's true.

Not surprised really. Boxing has been on a gradual decline since the mid 90s. The sport has seen more of a heavy decline in the last 3-4 years or so.

Robberies, the best not fighting other, 4 world titles, marinating, promoters not working with each other, network deals limiting who and when boxers fight.

We get the occasional Thurman/Porter, Ward/Kovalev and Frampton/Santa Cruz type of fights that remind us that boxing can be great again. The talent is there, but the corrupt business and money side of it really ruined it for the fans.
