The worst part is, he made even less money than he would've gotten from the first time the fight was proposed. He shot himself in the foot, got humiliated and walked away with a reduced paycheck after trying to be a diva months before.Comment

Clottey made one million guaranteed, and then prolly a few more hundred thousand from the PPV...
LOL Walters is so ******; if he took the fight back in the summer he would have made 550k (plus the 300k Loma offered him from his purse should he win).
LOL he only made a little more than half that last night. HAHAHAHAH that's what u get for DUCKING AND SWERVING!Comment

I am all for an athlete, in this case Walters, protecting themselves in a given situation...BUT...quit with the friggin' excuses. If Walters would've just left it all alone after his post fight interview and/or kept with the "Getting hurt, I had no answers, no point to keep getting punished" thought process, then I can live with that. He knows what he is capable of handling. But to come out and say "shoulda, woulda, coulda" and "IF" and "I did not quit" makes it easy for the boxing fan to question his heart.
When Morales nodded "No" to his corner after the second knockdown in the 3rd round of the last fight of his trilogy with Pac, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE will ever label El Terible a quitter. Morales did not come back with excuses.
That is just one example. I am sure there are many more.
C'mon Walters, quit with the excuses. Boxing fans aren't that ******...at least most of us are not???Comment

He quit way back when. The films of him training for this fight had him looking like he was on death row. He was terrified, hitting the pads with an old man, like he was saying "oh well". He quit at 126 and after a couple of close calls @130, he hid on the shelf looking for a payday. He had two fights, Marriaga with a weight advantage, and Sosa. He looked far from domineering, so he quit fighting and waited. He just quits.Comment
