I disagree walters will be remembered more for quitting against loma than beating a washed up donaire.duran is a top ten atg who was already a legend before the no mas fight he had already beaten leonard. you cant possibly compare him to walters.

You do realize Walters isn't African right? Lomachenko hasn't even fought any African opponents...

        Afro-Jamaican

Afro-Jamaicans are Jamaicans of entirely or predominantly African descent. The first Africans to arrive came in 1513 from the Iberian Peninsula. They were servants, cowboys, herders of cattle, pigs and horses, as well as hunters. When the English captured Jamaica in 1655, many of them fought with the Spanish who gave them their freedom and then fled to the mountains resisting the British for many years to maintain their freedom, becoming known as Maroons. The British in this point in time, brought with them mostly Akan ******, some of which ran away and joined with Maroons and even took over as leaders.

quitting is what duran is most famous for. he is the poster boy for quitters worldwide. .why do you think every time a fighter quits people say he pulled a "no mas"? durans documentary shoulda been titled "no mas" to be honest.

That's just a very short term view tbh. The guy stepped up and did what he could do and besides that his career is not over. It's a known fact, people do not appreciate what they have until it's gone. History will be more kind to Walters than what you just said.

yes duran was a great fighter..but he is most famous for quitting and that is a fact. google for articles about the biggest quitters in sports history and duran is the only boxer in the top 5. .walters isn't on durans level he doesn't have to worry about casuals condemning him like duran, but he just pulled the biggest quit job since 1980.

Every time people on here moan about quitters they should think about Nick Blackwell and what can happen to a fighter who carries on too long. At the end of the day it's not you in the ring, it's him and he can live to fight another day.

In legacy terms it depends on how he comes back. He has destroyed whatever bargaining power he had however. Coming off a bad defeat is difficult enough. Coming off it with everyone regarding you as a quitter makes it a whole lot harder.

Again, he should have taken the Lomachenko fight when it first came up. He could have fought again before Christmas and got back on track. Now it'd different.
