....and Roy talks a lot of tosh these days.

His commentary in the Ward-Kovalev fight made it almost unwatchable (without having to turn the sound off), then at one point in the Loma fight '....oh, great jab by Walters, and another, and another....'. All three jabs MISSED Roy - good jabs LAND.

and '...truth is Ward remains undefeated....', yes, but only technically ('officially' as you state), without the hometown bias in the scorecards he wouldn't have that. P4P lists are fantasy, they don't have to stick to official scorecards or any other criteria - most know Kovalev won, eg on my P4P list he stays above Ward.

Also the Ls are irrelevant, the true greats never gave a monkeys about risking a L (Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Ali). These days way too much time protecting zeros like they mean something - their only value is in the marketing (ie business) side of the sport, which is why they are protected - nothing to do with a boxers' real skill. The great ones will always test themselves against the best without cherry-picking and looking for advantages in timing the fight and catch-weights, and Ls are part of the territory if you do that.

Not unless the final 6 Kovalev rapidly boosts up his huggy bearing then maybe you have a point but we all know who wants to clinch and I've took notes about some of the type of clinches Ward has gone in for.

If anyone you should have a problem with on the HBO commentary it is Max Kellerman, Roy at the very least tried to keep Max right, Max was seeing something that was not happening in round 6 and Roy respectfully put him in his place.

As for final results there isn't much you can do about a robbery, pity I know.

Probably being forced by the broadcasters to not cause a big stir it was day light robbery type of stuff so you can understand why the people behind it wouldn't want big named pros yapping.

I'm glad I didn't pay to watch that fight though I'd stream it once again, it's not a PPV caliber fight well I think Kovalev has potential to do it but Ward is a spoilers or a fight he ruins good fights.

What really needs to be appreciated with Loma is what he's doing in the early rounds. He does these crazy 8-9 move combinations, slipping left and right, throwing feints, couple of pawwing shots, all the while racking up intel on how his opponent reacts, moves their weight, telegraphs their intentions, programming in exactly where the weaknesses are and what combination of moves gives him the advantage vis-a-vis disarming their power shots, opponents balance, their speed etc. Then round 4 on its time to take all that programmed intel and exploit it.

Can't think of any other boxers who ever did that so methodically. With most it happens naturally during the course of the fight anyway, but the way he explores every avenue from the outset, then puts it all together later is boxing purity.

Chocolito gets beat up in his last fight yet he's #1 on many lists? Yea OK boxing experts and fans are the biggest reason this sport as at an all time low.

I don't care how good his is really you never put a flyweight at the top of a P4P list........There's no competition at those low weights.

                1.Canelo
2.Ward/Kovalev (If u believe he beat Kovalev)
                3.GGG

How does Gonzales or Loma have a better record than Canelo?

Jumping on Roy Jones Jr's opinionated P4P list is about as bad as jumping on some random NSB poster's list. It's not official. Also, it's possible Roy could believe Ward lost but still have him as #1 on his list. The fight was razor close so it shouldn't cost either one of them any significant drop on an official P4P list.
