True, like if he had been swinging for the fences trying whatever to knock him out but was getting countered every single time and was taking a lot more punishment. I wouldn't complain about him stopping it but since to me it feels like he just didn't want to be embarrassed anymore the reason why he quit. I feel like he should be criticized about itComment

In a way, Walters quit when he gave up the 126 title on the scales, blaming some weird disease that fattens you up, instead of wasting you away. That was disgraceful, but he got a pass. He felt no shame then, and none now. Marriaga and Sosa might have beat him on the score cards, if we knew then what we know now.Comment

Ohh I agree he's an ALL-TIME GREAT!!! But him and Leonard are probably asked everyday about the "No Mas" Fight.
Fans have a short term memory and he can go on to do good/great things. I just don't see it. He's looking worse and worse every fight. Guys like Sosa and Marriaga shouldn't of went the distance with the Walters I saw in the Donaire and Darchinyan fights. I don't know what it is?? Maybe it's inactivity?? Maybe lazyness. I mean he lost a belt on the scales of all places. He's usually much bigger than the guys he fights. SHT maybe he should go back to 126 and then blow back up on fight night??
We of course say that there's no excuses if a fighter loses, and I think this applies to Walters especially. If Walters was at the top of his game, I just can't see him beating Lomachenko's movement and punch placement. He was constantly turned and beaten to the punch, had his right hand completely taken away from him, and was getting hit with increasingly regularity as the fight wore on. Even he said that he barely made it out of the 7th round. He says that fight would have went differently if he wasn't so inactive, but I honestly don't believe him.Comment

Hes never gonna live this down. Also doesnt help that he keeps making excuses and justifying it, ive seen fighters take beatings and still hang in their without quitting. He was fine and didnt even get hurt that badly. Just got schooled and gave up.Comment

Walters is correct, when I saw the fight he was weak rusty he couldnt pull the trigger, like i said the only way he loses is if he is drained or weak, and he was weak and rusty, he wasnt the same walters. Or maybe Top rank paid Walters to take a dive?
Lomachenko was very cautious as well, Lomachenko is a top class p4p 1 in my eyes not ward or kovalev, but its a shame there is a controversy in these two fights, now Walters being drained.
Loma vs rigo next.Comment
