seems strange that kovalevs considered so much better than walters? What top names had kovalev beaten before the ward fight? Walters CV was almost just as good really, donaire probably a better win than pascal. Kovalevs one of my favourites so im not slating him, but werent many many people on this site dismissing him before the ward fighting saying he was going to get schooled? Yet suddenly these people are now saying how great he is and what a great win for ward it was (even though he didnt even win)

Lomachenko's performance was better but he was in against a lesser opponent than Ward was. The jury was still out on whether Walters was still as good when he didn't have a considerable size advantage. I believe 80% of voters picked Lomachenko to win.

Lomachenko was way more impressive. Ward showed resolve by getting up and fighting through adversity but he wasn't impressive in any sense of the word. Ward has no right hand and he got hit quite often honestly . Lomachenko is a better overall fighter than Andre Ward skills wise, he just needs to continue on his career path and prove himself over time

Lomachenko easily. But there's no way you could argue Walters is on Kovalev's level.

I picked Ward against Kovalev but you're really comparing oranges to apples.

Kovalev was regarded as the king at light heavy and Ward got up from a KD and finished strong. The fight was just way more competitive and Ward showed why he is regarded as a top P4P fighter.

Boxing-wise, Lomachenko, sure. It was a lop-sided clinic but I think Walters is highly overrated. He really put his flaws at display against Sosa.

But really - two way different fights and styles.

Lomachenko because he dominated the fight. Ward got worked over and got a gift. There isn't one person that thought Walters was winning the fight when it was stopped whereas almost everyone agrees Kovalev was robbed.
